That's if it's any good right enough...we live in hope.
I never touched multiplayer in the original. Not sure if it even had one?
TO ME the most important aspect about Clancy games was always leading your team and giving them commands. How you do that in multiplayer? Oh right you don't (yeah you could setup command structure and use voip but not exactly the same thing).
Nothing against them adding player versus player but that seems so small scale for game this size. Then again GRAW 2 had best small scale multiplayer that I've played.

Of course you give commands in Multiplayer...it's called communication with your team and utilizing tactics.

Im amazed in a Ghost Recon forum that online is not considered important...i guess that shows how poor the game had got over the years. Maybe they do need to restart the full game with a story mode and ditch the multiplayer and then build from there.

This. I'm another one that wouldn't be fussed by ranked PvP.

I never understood why games don't join platforms, and I bet if someone put their mind to it, using bridging servers - you could achieve this WITHOUT the need for approval of the platform providers.

    EG:

Ubisoft server hosts a game session

Xbox Live (Windows/Xbox One) game shows Ubi server being available for a game, joins game session
PS4 game shows Ubi server being available for a game, joins game session

Ubisoft Server session starts all connected games

Xbox / PS4 game updates state information to Ubi server
Ubi server relays state information to all games in session

Basically, the only issues would be latency and availability of Ubi servers, but for all intents and purposes there wouldn't be a lot different to how things already work.

At the end of the day, if the platform providers are still being paid by gamers - and no-one deviates from the 'must be paying the platform provider' rules, the providers can hardly complain can they?

Well you just talk to each other - altho in the world of Egaming that seems to have been forgoten - and that games are for fun....

Is it me or has the whole E gaming kind of ruined games for the average player?

If you check more of the older threads in here, you will see that a lot of people are only here for PvP!

Me personally.. If it (WL) turns out to be co-op only, will probably not buy it. If co-op has regen-health, aim-assist and other "arcady stuff" I will most definetely not buy it. I didn't buy Future Soldier for those reasons.

Unfortunately that's not how it works. Think of all the integrated features for Xbox Live VS. Playstation Network. Friends lists, joining games your friends are in, VOIP, messaging, etc... All of this requires some kind of cross-platform communication and synchronization.

Plus, it's simply not good business from Microsoft/Sony's perspective to allow this to happen. And games sell consoles, so that's why Microsoft doesn't even want to consider allowing PC players to play directly with Xbox One players (only play Xbox One games on PC with a controller).

In MY VERY PERSONAL OPINION the reason cross-platform play isn't already a thing is because of top-tier corporate greed.

Well, it's not quite as U say. Beacause in gamepad I have all buttons I need (and only those) close 2 each other, yet at the same time not 2 close, so practically it's not possible 2 tap different button by accident. In keyboard it's a BIG possibility.

The only reason theres no crossplay is because they only do it for PS3/PS4 TO PC AND XBOX/XONE TO PC not PS4 to PC to XONE. This is so ridiculous. IIRC Microsoft doesnt allow ps4 to xone. Seriously, let us crossplay with our friends for god sake. i dont have enough disposal income for both ps4 and pc.
