    Options Menu Freeze

Far cry 4 runs well on my pc, smooth as silk, graphics look amazing.........but, when i go into the options menu to alter anything when I press or click on escape to get back to the main menu it freezes on me, the only way i can get out is to shut down the pc.
Its not really spoiling my enjoyment of the game, but it would be good to have the subtitles and alter the game difficulty.
    Any ideas anyone?

My rig: i7-4720HQ quad core 2.6Ghz-3.10Ghz
    Nvidia Geforce GTX 965m 2GB
    8 GB Ram

First thing to try is verify your game files

Do So why Running as Administrator for best results

To verify your files if you bought the game thru Steam ..\EXIT Steam ..right click your steam icon ..select run as Administrator

    launch Steam

go to your Steam games library

right clik on far cry 4

    select properties

    select local files

select verify Integrity of game cache

it takes a few min to do but its faster the redownloading your entire game , if its only a few files that were corrupt or installed incorrectly .... this in many cases will fix your problems

If you have the U play only Version of the game you can also verify your game files with U play

if you have the game via u play only here are instructions how to verify your game files thru their client
Again its probably best to make sure you launch Uplay as RUN as Administrator when you do a file verify

see the bottom of the page

second thing to try is updating your video Driver , with most Laptops you can get them from your laptop manufacturer , Nvidia recommends you try those first in most cases as Nvidia reference drivers may not be supported drivers .. from Nvidia's page it says :

As part of the NVIDIA Notebook Driver Program, this is a reference driver that can be installed on supported NVIDIA notebook GPUs. However, please note that your notebook original equipment manufacturer (OEM) provides certified drivers for your specific notebook on their website. NVIDIA recommends that you check with your notebook OEM about recommended software updates for your notebook. OEMs may not provide technical support for issues that arise from the use of this driver.

(some laptops may require a specific video driver for the Nvidia optimus system to function correctly )

also open Nvidia control panel and make sure under 3d settings \ Global
under power management its set to - Prefer Maximum performance Not adaptive ..laptops in general are usually set to conserve power even in the Windows power settings to save on your battery life (even when its plugged in, so check your windows power management settings as well )

3rd thing to do is make sure you have no backround applications running why you have the game open that may be conflicting with the title
some antivirus programs can be a little heavy on your system resources , as well .

if none of that helps contact Ubisoft Support , this is best done by Phone
You can also call them on the phone during regular support hours <--(BEST OPTION)
You can find phone number information here: https://support.ubi.com/en-US/FAQ/60...0000000eiChCAI

You can also try to contact them via social media.

    Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/UbisoftSupport
    Twitter: https://twitter.com/ubisoftsupport

but i do not know if they would be able to help you much , since it does say in the system requirements for the title
Additional Notes: Supported video cards at the time of release: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or better, GeForce GTX 700 series; AMD Radeon HD5850 or better, Radeon R9 series.

Note: Laptop versions of these cards may work but are NOT officially supported.

I'd already verified game cache through Steam before and it made no difference, however.....did it again and one file was faulty and had to be replaced.
I also updated my graphics driver, and happy to say things seem to be working fine now!
Thanks very much for your reply and advice.
