I'm playing on console. These people don't have a keyboard and mouse. They're not using short, controlled bursts -- they are spraying. When I watch the kill feed, the majority of the kills are from headshots, but when I watch people play, they don't aim for the head, they just spray all around the enemy and just happen to hit them in the head.
Something is terribly wrong here. It ruins the balance of the game when a carefully planned ambush can be ruined because the enemy turns around spraying and hits you in the face while you pump his torso full of bullets. Sure, headshots should count for something, but as of right now, no one on console actually aims for headshots, and the randomness of stray headshots is destroying the theme of planning and execution.
The aim assist in this game seems to only work when initially aiming down sights. Coupled with realistic gun recoil (VERY rare for a video game these days), it makes it very hard to land shots at range. People resort to spraying, and sometimes they get lucky. Controlled fire should beat them every other time though.
Any ambush where your target has the opportunity to spray at you is not a carefully planned ambush. Being shot at? assume your chances of death is high.Originally Posted by Charity Diary Go to original post
This is probably the idea that helped me the most. I know what you mean, random headshots are annoying. Especially on console, where you cannot control recoil as well as PC, small controlled bursts are far more important to accuracy. I have found that controlling your engagements and intel become infinitely more important with the one headshot rule.Originally Posted by Single_M0M Go to original post
As for my opinion on it, I'm split. I love it when i can drop 3 people with 3 shots of an MP7, but hate it when I get outgunned by a pistol when I'm using an AR.
I've held back on complaining about this because it does seem like an excuse, but it really is kind of bs. So many times I've been lighting someone up, I shoot first but they turn and pow first shot hits my face. I guess I need to finesse lining up a headshot for my first shot but it's still ridiculous to empty a clip and get insta-killed.
The recoil in this game is no where near close to realistic. Especially considering we are supposed to be playing as highly trained operatives whose entire life pretty much consists of shooting.Originally Posted by Olafaloofian Go to original post
I don't think that you can generalize and say that people don't aim for the head.
also many people aim for the chest knowing that their recoil will bring their gun up to the enemy players head while it maybe makes more sense to use this strategy in a gamer like bf4 where it takes more than one shot to kill its still obvious many people use it.
If other people spray and magically hit you in the head why don't you shoot them in the head first? Are you suggesting people who don't aim are more likely to insta kill than you, a person who thinks they're not playing to your skill level?
Are you special? There is NOTHING realistic about the weapon handling in this game. SMGs with ACOGs? SMGS sniping from 100 meters or more out onto the roof of a secondary building? Not likely. Machine guns being held within the area of a person's chest while being fired fully-automatic? Nope. None of that is realistic. You ever try to fire something even as small-caliber as an M16 on full-auto? You're not keeping it on target for long, I promise you.Originally Posted by Olafaloofian Go to original post
Also, WTF are you talking about "Hard to land shots at range". You can SNIPE with a PISTOL in this game.
Ubisoft definitely needs to remake their hitboxes. Making head sets and gas mask filters as part of the hit box is just pure laziness and carelessness from Ubisoft.
Edit: And recoil definitely needs a buff in this game, especially for SMG's. SMG's recoil is like having an invisible butt stock or something, it's just too accurate for an SMG.
What did you expect, coming from the same developer that lets you jump your drone straight through existing barricades because the guy's not finished placing them yet?Originally Posted by Garensterz2014 Go to original post
