That is your opinion, and you're welcome to it!

Personally, I find that without good graphics to back up a good narrative, games don't capture my interest nearly as much. If I can't feel immersed in the game world because the graphics are bugging out or doing something that I know should otherwise be entirely possible due to seeing it in other modern CGI... It just doesn't do it for me.

I have a very hard time going back and playing older games because of this, yet, at the time when they came out and had good graphics for the period it wasn't an issue.

I'm kind of on the fence. On one side, gameplay is definitely more important and I can forgive a lot if the basic gameplay of a game is really good. On the other side, it can be rough to get invested in something that is hideous or not enjoyable to look at. If slightly lower res textures allow for a smoother experience then so be it - just make sure the game is still fun.

Ubisoft doesn't downgrade games to improve performance. They downgrade games so they have parody between Console & PC so Console gamers don't get all pissy. All the games that Ubisoft has shown in the past and then downgraded could have worked fine on a mildly good PC. They just used the "Downgrade to improve performance" speech as an excuse so that PC gamers wouldn't become enraged.

    Mostly incorrect.

Downgrades are a result of technical or optimization issues. I tried typing out an explanation as to the specifics here, but there are SO MANY legitimate technical and practical reasons that it turned into a novel... Twice... Just go do some research into how game development is done professionally as opposed to how indie devs do it. There's literally too many reasons to list as to why games don't get downgraded to appease one audience over another...

Watch_Dogs was downgraded for technical reasons, not to appease one audience over another... That's super obvious considering it was downgraded on all platforms equally when compared to the trailers for the game. There were literally people from every platform complaining about the graphics downgrade for Watch_Dogs.

Wrong, For example, Far Cry 4 was downgraded, they was incredible lighting in E3 when it was played on consoles, at retail, this Lighting doesn't exist not even for PC, same with Watch Dogs, what we've seen in E3 and it ran fine, could've been handled easily on a good enough computer by the time it came out, still they downgraded it, and the optimization was really bad nonetheless on PC.

And The divison ? Some people saw the PC version but don't have any authorization to talk about it, think a little bit maybe they changed their policy and try to don't have any Downgrade or at least the less possible.

Also maybe now they know better how to make games on PS4 and Xbox One and will have more time to polish the PC version.

What Ubi have shown off so far i dont think any downgrade will happen, What they have shown is easily believable and did not have the wow factor "that looks truly amazing" that Watchdogs, The Division and Rainbow Six reveals had...imo what they have shown is what we'l get.
