Now, as someone that couldn't care less about PvP or competitive MP in general I don't care all that much. I'm going to actually get AI squadmates to command so I don't have to deal with the mic-less rabble that matchmaking dregs up from the depths of Xbox Live, PSN, or whatever else. For those of you that are actually looking forward to MP though this needs to be a topic that needs addressing. These are the big questions as far as I'm concerned.
1.) Should friendly fire even be on? Classic GR titles had it, GRFS didn't.
2.) What type of friendly fire should there be? Should the rounds hurt the player being shot or should there be a ricochet mechanic to hurt the shooter?
3.) If friendly fire is on what type of system should be implemented to protect players from chronic TKers and griefers?
Obviously I feel that the community should have options to self regulate (like maybe a forgive/punish system) as sometimes accidental TKs happen - you can't always predict when a mic-less random will leap like a gazelle into your line of fire, after all. What do you guys think?
Don't really care for multiplayer these days anymore. I used to play lot of'em back in the day(from original Team Fortress to Planetside 2) but these days I'm more of a story and choices kind of player.
But since GRAW2 was my favorite multiplayer before Planetside 2 made all others obsolete I'll give my thoughts.
1. Definately. No point playing if you can spray through friendlies.
2. No repercussions, Accidents happen. And forgive/punish ends up just hurting your team 80% (pulled from my bum) of the time.
3. Ban after few kills, perma ban if the person doesn't learn. Of course this should be thinked through so that accidental granade doesn't get you banned etc.
Happy to see other topics tah POV, Multiplayer or haters
1. Friendly fire is a must. Imagine players running and spraying like idiots around the map even shooting on teamatesEvery one know that GR must be a co-op game not a lone wolf one.
2. No instantaneous repercussion. Like Lolssi said "Accidents happen"![]()
3. be able to kick a member of your squad. A karma system for all the players of the game if the TK ratio is too big they are banned from some multiplayer activities during 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, ...
Friendly fire and teamkilling is two different things !
On GR1 it was on as the game was in the campaign and multiplayer hardcore based !
Now FF give authenticity and real situation so you have to be carefull and tactical, now remember that GR1 mp was hosted by dedicated servers and we had access to the console to type the game commands to kick or ban and blacklist pleayers.
1. Yes, teamwork and vision should prevent friendly fire.Originally Posted by DanHibikiFanXM Go to original post
2. Rounds should hurt.
3.If a player is killed by team mate then it should unlock a vote to kick system.
