I can't confirm this but from what I've read in this thread the first round of badges were only given to Alpha participants to thank them for being active in the Alpha and more badges are to come?

I tried the Email again and wasn't immediately returned with the error messages I got last night, so maybe it went through.

We're taking a look at issues with the email now. Hopefully we can get that resolved soon. Until then, you can also PM with anything. I'll update here once we figure out why some of you are having trouble with the email.

That's what I figured... I also noticed that all the badges say 'Closed Alpha' on the bottom.

Yeah,

So I think everyone shouldn't be upset if they didn't get one because its only for the Alpha that just passed, they'll be bringing out new badges in the future.
