see this event as it is : xmas event where you get free stuff all along the way. In a perfect world, players would be happy to get free gifts, what ever the gifts are, because, well, it's gifts. They would be even happier when they get the tracks.

Thanks for this event! As for me, it has the best idea! I like, that there is no continuous grinding, intervals are rather large, I like, that half of races are based on skills, I like the idea of presents and take this event as you describe, just enjoy I couple points and then invite kids to open them - they always enjoy that process (we consider 3 lvl parts as an empty lottery ticket - "sorry, no winning this time", but in lottery it's normal, as you say but I think it's much better than to see Butch face in the box - it might be Christmas nightmare )
(take into account that I'm 10xx position player, and don't have all tracks and all plats, so do not aim to the first rows do nearly all missions)

Jolly, it doesn't bother me at all if other people have collected all the gift tracks already. The problem is I'm about half way through the event and still haven't opened a single gift track. If I had opened 1 or 2 I'd be fine (though still a bit worried as to whether or not I'd collect them all). But in its current state I'm at 0 (I'm obviously excluding skater's paradise since it's the freebie opened at the beginning). Right now it looks like I'm going to have to compete against some crazy rng odds in the latter half of the event to get these tracks. It's very hard to enjoy the event when I put in this effort to only get parts I no longer need. It's like I have a life time supply of ramen noodles and the only gifts I'm getting are more ramen noodles. I'll admit it was nice filling up some of my last costume slots, but that's a superfluous aspect of this game that I'm not exactly concerned with.

what is happening here is not the fact you didn't get all the tracks, but that others did and not you.

I don't think that is the case. It is more the fact that you do all this effort to collect 400 gift points, and when you open your two presents, you get PARTS. Of all the presents I have opened, I got parts. That's what I am a little pissed of, because we were promised new tracks, for example. You'll get it eventually, but it's taking too long; we're giving too much effort for too little rewards. That's what most people are frustrated about.

You weren't promised new tracks, that's the point. You were promised gifts, that may be new tracks. You are expecting new tracks, which is different.
Have a look at the patchnote for the Xmas event, it says "The rewards earned from the presents are random. Inside the presents can be found both classic and brand new items, including tracks, outfits and bike skins."
I can understand that you have the feeling you are putting too much effort for too little rewards. But it was never said that you will receive new tracks with this event. It is even mathematically possible you don't get any new track, at all. I honestly don't think it will happen, but it is not impossible.
So if you play the event only in order to win new tracks, it is understandable your are frustrated. But the event wasn't presented that way.

Btw, I somehow received the second track by the end of the first week, now it's coin and parts all the way. No new tracks on the horizon for me, nevermind I'm opening 4 gifts at the time. Will see...

Curious as to how many purchased the $50 special?? I did, thinking it was a good investment being that I could double my chances of adding content that i've missed out on (tracks, outfits, paint, blueprints...) but If I end up with just 2-3 tracks, that seems like a gigantic waste of money. RL should at least have increased the frequency of track drops for those who purchased the event special.

I know tracks are the most valuable rewards, and I can understand it is hard to take enough distance to see this event as it is : xmas event where you get free stuff all along the way. In a perfect world, players would be happy to get free gifts, what ever the gifts are, because, well, it's gifts. They would be even happier when they get the tracks.
So IMO, what is happening here is not the fact you didn't get all the tracks, but that others did and not you. Which is a completely human reaction, but doesn't mean the event is not well designed.
I do see where the frustration comes from, and this has been notified to the devs teams. Now we have two options for the rest of the event. A, keep on being angry, hence not enjoying at all. B, lay back, breath and chill to enjoy the rest of the event whatever the outcome is.
I know you'll chose option A, but let's say option B is my wish for Xmas ^^

i show you the difference of luck between someone very lucky and someone who's not...

also your communication about this event,in the first time you asked unlucky ones to be patient,now it's time to say the truth by telling us that is mathematically possible we don't get any new tracks... BADLY DESIGNED!!!
it's not the christmas goal to satisfy everyone ??

I have been playing like hell
But still couldnt get to drop another track
Only left with one skater paradise
I at least hope we can get all tracks by end of this event
Or else its really gonna leave a bad taste
