The procedure entry point could not be found in the dynamic link library

Hello, I bought Far Cry 4 for PC and I installed, but when I start Far Cry 4 there is always this Error: the procedure entry point UPLAY_USER_GetNameUtf8 could not be located in the dynamic link. Where could/is the problem?

does your PC meet the system requirements for the title ?

this includes a Quad Core CPU (Dual core cpu's are not supported)

and a direct X 11 class video card with at least 1 gig of ram on it

as well as at least 4 gig of system ram

and a 64 bit operating system (32 bit operating system are not supported )

if you do meet those requirements try to run Uplay as an Administrator and also verify your game files , as you may have a corrupt install

To verify your files if you bought the game thru Steam ..\EXIT Steam ..right click your steam icon ..select run as Administrator

    launch Steam

go to your Steam games library

right clik on far cry 4

    select properties

    select local files

select verify Integrity of game cache

it takes a few min to do but its faster the redownloading your entire game , if its only a few files that were corrupt or installed incorrectly .... this in many cases will fix your problems

If you have the U play only Version of the game you can also verify your game files with U play

if you have the game via u play only here are instructions how to verify your game files thru their client
Again its probably best to make sure you launch Uplay as RUN as Administrator when you do a file verify or when you play the game

also see this page for other possible fixes (yes this is on the steam version of the game ,but much of the info i have compiled in the troubleshooting tips section will apply to the Uplay Only version of Far Cry 4 as well )

such as back round applications and overlay problems and a link to download the latest version of Uplay , this may be needed as they recently did update the Uplay client
    http://steamcommunity.com/app/298110...6486417358966/

and i did a lil digging for you, and that error is common in other games as well , to fix it try making sure you have up to date Microsoft library's installed
    \these include
    Direct X
Visual Basic C++ run times, and .net framework

all of these can be found in the games support folder

these may need to be updated if your only running windows 7 and should be added as part of Windows 7 Service pak 1 ..but yes sometimes they get corrupted and need to be re-installed

if your running a version of windows 7 without the service pak 1 files you may get errors

    Only way to fix:

    -Reinstall Uplay.
    -Verify Game files.
    -Update to vanilla retail game.
