DISCLAIMER: Writing this as of December 2015 after having seen the youtuber invites to L.A for the pre-alpha. I apologise if any of this has been considered and rejected or is in the alpha release but has yet to have media coverage.

While I know that the sling is in the game at present in so far as I have been in the menu and with some enemies using in on pre-alpha Takkar I wanted to give my elaboration on how I feel the Sling could be applied tactically, this is based not only on it was utilised historically but also from personal observations as I am a keen weaver and slinger of stones, this came from a historical studies degree and a love of experimental archaeology. If anyone likes I can post pics to show variation in types and their separate purposes.

The sling was around before the bow and depending on which culture it is not known if it came before or after the Atl-atl which was a big spear sized arrow launched by a levering stick which were used on many mammoths.

The sling could fling a stone further than a bow or spear but as it was launched in an arc it had to be more instinctively predicted than pin point sniping with a bow.

A hit to the body would knock an enemy over, much like when you get hit by a rhino in game, the damage minimal compared to a bow but it gives time to enter melee weapon or take down range.

A hit to the head is death, same as a bow.

Animation wise the idle would be hands in front with the left hand cupping the pouch with stone of choice in it. The loaded animation can be whirling about the head same as drawing and loading an arrow on the bow ready to fire.

Another bonus is grenade pots could be loaded at higher levels, this was done in history as well.

RATIONALE: I know that this weapon is being implemented but I wonder if mechanically it is more than just a poor mans bow ?
