Hi everyone!
I played a few rounds at PSX and although I love the combat and feel of the game and can't wait to play more, I did have one suggestion -
In almost every round during the tutorial phase, people had a hard time switching targets when locked on. I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, the process was L2 to lock on, release, move camera to new target, engage L2 again to lock on. I think this process absolutely has to be changed. Obviously it's better to not engage two targets at once, but sometimes that's what happens if your partner dies and it's up to you to finish the job.
In my opinion, I think the lock should never be released and instead you should be able to press, say R3 and this will lock onto the next nearby target. this will allow you to possible defend against, and even parry, against both targets simultaneously. Obviously if you're surrounded, this does nothing, but facing both in front of you this at least lets you switch targets quickly so you can attack/block the enemies who are in front of you if they attack from the front.
That honestly was the only thing I had an issue with. It could be that this is already in the game somewhere and I just missed it - it's hard to tell on a show floor and it's possible I just missed the prompt.
Regardless, great game. I'd love to give more feedback if I can get in on the next Alpha/beta, but either way, just my opinion.
Keep up the great work developing this game!
I've been saying this since I saw the controller layout and noticed there was no dedicated 'switch target' button. There needs to be a way to easily switch the opponent you're focused on without lowering your guard, for the reason illustrated here.Originally Posted by chronosquall Go to original post
R3 seems like the best option, since you can still change guard direction/keep guard direction held while you're doing it.
Regardless, you can parry two targets at once if your timing is right.

I've brought up the same suggestion as well. One of the tougher parts of 2v1 is not being able to seamlessly switch between targets on the fly. With this inclusion, 2v1 should become a lot less frustrating.
GDI, I still can't get over how clean the animations are. I've said it a billion times and I'll keep saying it. The devs really outdone themselves.Originally Posted by MisterWillow Go to original post![]()
