    - Suggestions, Primal Team -

So, I have read some other posts with great ideas, and some not so much, heres my 2 cents.

    1. - Yes, a tough survival mode, or, just the way the game plays. This keeps it unique, and gameplay lasts much longer because its a challenge, it will involve much more strategy. Some people want everything so easy, but thats not the way the game market is moving. Maybe in the cold areas, (as another user suggested) have clothes you can craft to keep you warm) Keep it challenging!

    2. - Weather. I hope weather is part of the game.... rain, storms, snow and blizzards.

    3. - As I read from other posts, traps, making hunting a little more difficult, and also allowing trapping. You can already craft weapons in the game, lets craft traps as well.

    4. - Base building! (Camp) Im not sure if I read somewhere you can already do this in Primal, but if not, lets do it. Allow camp building anywhere you want, a place to hang out, build up, store items, whatever you need. And, as in fallout 4, maybe other tribes might sniff out your camp to see whats up (maybe also, you can allow cave paintings. You can paint on your walls, just as they did back then, with some type of paint you have to mix from plants and other things you gather in the environment .....

    5. - Please, please no dinosaurs.. this is ridiculous, as I mentioned before, if you do that, then people will want cars, then guns, before you know it, the game is no longer unique and original, keep it true to the time period, keep it challenging, and not over the top with cartoonish dinosaurs. I know you can already ride animals in the game... ok, i suppose, but lets stop it there from moving any further in that direction of somewhat ridiculousness. I love the animals you have already implemented in the game, and im sure youll have more later on. Again, its about the atmosphere, the environment, the feeling of being immersed in a true survival, hard knock life of a caveman. The better you are at doing this, and keeping things genuine and unique, the better game you have, and, you have a game with lasting appeal, an award winner.

I love what I have seen so far, just again, keep it original, unique and challenging, the more challenging and difficult it is to survive, the better and more immersive it is! Keep up the good work Ubi! (just a few ideas I noticed real quick, but, if I think of more, Ill post.)

I just posted this on YouTube on the video Titled, "
"Far Cry Primal Gameplay Walkthrough #1 – Developer Commentary"
It's the one where they Tame the Dire-Wolf and show some of the Gameplay mechanics... But what made me groan and say to myself: NOT AGAIN....Which followed with me asking myself "How have the developers not seen how the current mechanic for enemies "spotting the player" with a meter that fills up is SO HORRIBLE and generic. and frankly i expect MORE from Far Cry, It was a ground breaking game when the Original came out, and i would LOVE to see it hold itse;f to that level of innovation!.. So here us the post i made on Youtube where asked that the mechanic for enemies spotting the player be changed to be more realistic.

I think i speak for a LOT of loyal fans who love this title when i say: That the mechanic currently in place of how enemies "spot you" with that "meter" that fills up slowly so that the enemies can get about 3 to 5 seconds to be "SURE" that your character is an enemy...This mechanic is both worn out, and immersion breaking. Now that may sound harsh, but i mean this purely as a "constructive" suggestion to PLEASE create a more immersive mechanic for that aspect of game play,...

Because changing that mechanic would go a VERY long way, toward making players feel less like they've just purchased re-skinned version of the previous far-cry game with a stone-age Theme this time,

A second suggestion, (although not nearly as important to the gameplay!) would be to see this title have its own "unique" symbols for plants on the mini-map as well as perhaps it's OWN STYLE of mini map. Because i still see the same old circle, with symbols of different colored generic leaves on it to denote which herb/plant does what it does.

Again this is just my opinion and these are just friendly, and constructive suggestions that i hope many will agree that we would like to see in this title. Because frankly, this "theme" of stone-age era style of Far Cry has the potential to create it's own "offshoot" brand within the Far Cry Franchise if you just put a little extra effort to make it feel more like it is NOT a re-skin of the previous Far Cry game. I'm suggesting this because as a person who owns "MOST" of the Assassin's Creed Titles, I stopped buying them after "Assassin's Creed: Unity"...for the simple obvious reason that each one "FEELS" the same as the previous one as far as game-play goes, and that, to me, is a HUGE detractor from the "APPEAL" of a game.
Thank you for reading this, and if you agree, and you want Far Cry Primal to be more like what i've suggested please rate this up so (hopefully) someone in the development team will see this (i'll also post on their Forums but i figured i'd start here to see if we could drum-up some support for better game play mechanics. (where it's needed) Also feel free to reply if you have better ideas!

I also realized it would be unfair of me to criticize this system without at least giving some alternative suggestions! So something i would like to see in place of this spotting mechanic, would be if we were to use the video of the Developers showing off the gameplay, when the Player approaches and "hunkers down alongside his "Tame Leopard" There was something i noticed there, which is, The Skin for the leapord was done so well that much like a REAL leapord his coat blends him in with grass and foliage really well! So why not have either a "Camouflage Meter" or a "Camouflage Multiplier" That takes into account the players current "cover" or "camouflage rating" and comares it to what percentage of the enemy-A.I. Character's cone of Vision Has a clear view of the player, So the general idea being if the player is moving slowly enough and crouched and "sneaking" that as long as they dont break certain "checks and balances" within the sneaking mechanic the enemy won't notice him until he is within say 3 to 5 meters. And once he does, he could simply shout something, and havbe there be about a half of a second delay (in other words: whatever the normal human reaction times would be if the NPC-A.I. were currently in a "Relaxed" state and have them not start attacking the player until that half of a second or so has passed)

To elaborate let's say the enemy does have a clear line of sight on the player, if the player walks or watches the head movements of the enemy and doesnt "run" while crouched, he should be able to slowly creep up to that enemies position, That would really help the player feel the need to get within range of the more realistic attack-ranges of the players weapons! It would also be a LOT more immersive to where the player could almost "FEEL" like they have learned a skill "FROM" this wild Leopard which he has tamed. thus making the player feel more like the animals and the player truely have a much closer "Bond" and perhaps you could make it so the player only learns that "TACTIC" once they aquire a tame animal that is capable of that feature. so you get the leopard, and say hypothetically speaking it unlocks the ability to sneak up and quietly take out an enemy without alerting others, And if the player does NOT have the leopard unlocked perhaps he could only "sneak" a certain amount and only into "ranged" attack distance at best.

But getting back to the enemies. The way they slowly "SEE" a player makes no sense and feels "overly simplified". Especially when they don't "double-check" or "investigate" whenever they have momentarily "seen" a player.... And If a player can stand in plain view of an enemy, and that enemy has a meter that slowly fills up, it just feels so much like it is "fake" and makes the player feel as if they are playing an "arcade game" and not a "tactical role-playing first-person title where your actions matter!

If i can step into the open, stand there for an entire second (or even a shorter time period, like only half of a second)... and then i step back into cover..... And the enemy doesn't even so much as want to come and "double check" what it was he "thought" he saw? That makes zero sense to me. And thus as i stated, it breaks the immersion and the feeling that the player is truly a part of the game world! And to speak a bit more Frankly: i expect better both from Ubisoft and It is most certainly below the talent level of the Ubisoft Developers themselves, and i hope this post makes the rounds through the staff' offices, because i believe that these Developers have the talent to put this title up as the best Far Cry ever made if they recycle less of the old Tittle's Mechanics and create new versions of existing mechanics. From a marketing Standpoint it would "technicly" make it a good reason to say it would be "unlike any other Far Cry game before it!" Which would net the company quite a boost in sales... Especially when you look at one of the main reasons why so much fewer copies of Assassin's Creed Syndicate are sold as there were copies of Assassin's Creed Unity, (now the official explanation is that Unity's "Bugs" Hurt sales of Assassin's Creed Syndicate. But the reason my friends and i didn't purchase the game was because we saw from the game play demonstration that it was just the exact same previous Assassin's Creed Title with a face-lift. And it is my personal opinion that is the type of design standpoint taken from companies like E.A. and how the genral consensus of the players is that every "Call of Duty" title is the same as the previous. And i don't want to see Far Cry suffer like that anymore..... But again, (And this is all just my Humble opinion),...But i think the reason why Primal is not generating as much hype on it's own as it should is more strongly related to people not wanting to buy a game that looks and feels the same as the previous one, once you remove the cave-man theme) and by having different, varied and a LOT more "ground-breaking" mechanics will go MUCH FURTHER toward making players feel like it is a Unique title or experience rather than just a "rinse and dry and re-sell the previous game's mechanic's with a new theme."

I'm seeing a TON of "Far Cry Primal Suggestions Threads"...

Can we PLEASE have a moderator DO what it is they are supposed to do and sticky ONE of them to the top so that ALL suggestions can be posted under the SAME THREAD?! Because in all honesty, The f act that i am seeing SO many suggestion posts, and seeing them get "lost" amongst other posts and suggestions, is disheartening and makes me feel as if developers care very little for what the Far Cry Fans are GENUINELY ASKING THEM FOR, and are just going to stick to taking orders from Ubisoft-Corporate, (In other words... Rinsing off the skins and theme from the last Far Cry game or two, and "Slapping on" some new "character-skins" and new "theme" or in this case a new "time -Era" and Then leaving in, all the same old mechanics and then calling it a "whole new Game completely seperate from the last one"...It's like after Far Cry 3 set a "standard" they stopped trying to "innovate" and make Far Cry better. This is a "Lazy" and very "corporate" (by "corporate" i just mean how large corporations tend to order their employees to "just do what works" and let marketing hype the hell out of it on T.V. and Youtube") That way of doing things although it drums up sales numbers, it doesn't KEEP people buying the game and playing it YEARS on down the line because it's amazingly innovative, and i think you developers, as the amazing artists that you know you are, need to challenge yourselves more and get a dialogue going with the Fans who're going to be buying the game. And don't set your "goal" to be only to get people to want to play it "long enough for the NEXT Far Cry in the series to come out.
I want to see all the WONDERFUL creative suggestions that Forum-Members are throwing out there, (not just mine either, i mean everyone's suggestions, no matter how crazy or difficult to do!) And i want to see the Developers posting replies and getting a real dialogue going. If the Corporate folks who make the decisions are "worried" about taking artistic direction from the fans just send them over to go look at "Chris Roberts' Star Citizen, and how the "FANS" and Players aren't just throwing out ideas, they're DESIGNING CONTENT for the devlopers to make, Which is Driving pre-sales through the cieling!
so i guess, here's to hoping that someone is actually "moderating" this Forum and all these posts from people who want to see their suggestions and dreams realized.....

You are very correct, Ubisoft doesn't have to operate like Star Citizen and CiG which is an amazing route for games to be travelling down and one I am following but developers, lead designers and producers need to follow forums for logical, appropriate and reasonable suggestions.

In fact looking through this forum no fan has posted anything that couldn't be implemented in the last 2 months you have left, most of what players at this point are looking for from what they have discerned are elaborations on mechanics, themes and aesthetics which is not unreasonable even with a very short time to go.

I think this game will be amazing, I think even from how it is in pre-alpha if it were to be released with little to no modification except for an AI clean up it would still be great.

But will it write gaming history, Chris Roberts is, in fact you think they are making money now it will be nothing once they are on their next project after Star Citizen and once SC picks up momentum outside just backing fans, AAA developers might want to think just what is it even worth to be a AAA publisher.

Remember boys and girls, newspapers were pretty powerful media and they never thought they would go out of fashion.

Wait, so you saw there were other existing suggestion posts, but created another one to post yours?.... interesting.... And since when are people thinking FC needs to keep close to realism and really be a challenging strategy based survival game? thats never been what FC has been and I don't think this game is going to change that. this is already a game where you can throw a hunk of meat on the ground, hold your hands out and tame a sabretooth tiger which you can then ride, i think realism and deep tactical gameplay went out the window before the game left pre-production. Dinosaurs are the only thing left that they should add to mix it up a bit, because right now, the game is a super basic stone age reskin of FC3/4.... only with coop, crappy MP and the map editor removed from the suite of features.

Yes, I am trying to condense as much as I can in one post, rather than post multiple multiple topics cluttering the forum page,

starting a new thread about the same topic of an existing one is the opposite of keeping things condensed....
