Why so much for so little !?!?

I'm in the process of upgrading the last few bits of my speed bikes and I was wondering why it costs so much to speed-up such a short amount of time !?!?

What I mean is.....When we start an upgrade it always costs 25 Gems if we want to complete it straight away BUT I noticed that it was still asking for 4 Gems to complete it when there was only 16 minutes left to go.....That's a bit much for the time that's left in my opinion.....It should be more like 1 Gem when it gets inside the last hour, especially after waiting over 100 hours for the upgrade !!

I just thought this could do with being looked into and re-worked, I think a change needs to be made to something that's better fitting because it was still asking for 4 Gems right down to the last minute !?!?

What's your thoughts on this my fellow riders ??

It seems like they've really gone out of their way to make the upgrading process take as long as possible (or cost as much as possible if we choose to speed things up) much like the mega grind-fest we have to do to get the bunker tracks unlocked !!

Truly said I m at 6 upgraded phantom now but the amount of time it takes is just ridiculous and also the gems u have to spend just decreases very slow like 25 gems to do it in 196 hr's and then as u said earlier 4 gems for 16 min lol I don't know y someone would spend 4 gems to get them upgraded when u have waited so long mate
    Nice observation

    Short answer:
speeding up the upgrade (no matter how long it is) it will always cost only 25 gems (for full time ofc )

I'm just glad that I bought both of the outfits that reduce the amount of waiting time because the times get crazy long otherwise but I still think that 4 Gems for such a small amount of time is a rip-off !!

Guess I was hoping that by bringing it to their attention that they might have a look into this and possibly adjust it to more sensible/reasonable amounts for us at some point !?

Nah, RL won't bother about that topic. But I'm wondering WHO IS spending gems on that (=decreasing the time for an upgrade)?
The whole game is (like every other free2play-game) about waiting - upgrading, getting fuel, slot machine, etc.

Also I personaly don't see the need for speeding up the upgrading. As it gets damn expensive on higher levels, you often don't have the money at the time you would need it...so waiting for an upgrade to be ready can be "used" to generate money for the next upgrade. I myself got every bike, the only not-fully-upgraded bikes are: berserker is at lvl7, agent isn't upgraded at all, stallion half upgraded and I don't have efficient funds to upgrade all, so I'm concentrating on the berserker (which still needs 2,5 million gold...way to much, but that's how the game works and RL tries to squeeze every € out of the players).

Since I'm playing for a year and more... I was rather nervous and eager to see my bikes upgraded... but that was once... I have them all maxed (bar Stallion) and I really underline - better wait and do not pay for the upgrades to max out the bike earlier... You will get there in the end...

Hey Dragon!!! You've almost surpassed me on the GLB That surely tells something about your skill man. Keep on improving your skill and the bike will max out, in (and with) time

    Cheers!

Glad they went to this, but it was too late for me. Back in the beginning, it was hundreds of gems to upgrade early, and counted down to smaller numbers over time.... Of course, it was a blatant grab for money and almost everyone ignored it.... F2P games definitely teach you the value of patience. If you are not patient, they WILL bankrupt you.

Cheers Fevves, much appreciated mate, I like to think I'm slowly getting better every other time I play with thanks to you and ALL my fellow riders on here for help and info that's helped me along the way as well !!

Thanks for ALL your answers and views on this minor topic, I wasn't complaining so much as making an observation and questioning the crazy pricing !!

I've only ever sped-up a couple of upgrades myself, that was when I first started playing Frontier and my bike wasn't good enough to compete in the bunker so I used some gems to get the upgrade done to try and help me, but to be honest, I have the same mind as Suckor1337.....Now-a-days I'm happy to use the waiting time to generate more coins for the next upgrade which then gives me regular upgrades rolling in.

I haven't upgraded the Agent Bike at-all (either this or stallion will be last to get upgraded)
My Stallion is only 1/1/1/1 (I stopped upgrading when I read reports that it made no difference)
    My Donkey is at 5/10/10/10
    My Marauder is 7/7/7/7
    My Phantom is now 9/8/9/9
And the rest of my Bikes are maxed out.

I wish I had upgraded my Speed Bikes before my Balanced Bikes though, as there's less call for the Balanced Bikes !!

Anyway, Thanks again to ALL my fellow riders.....Great community here.....Enjoy !!

The only thing I can "advise" is: get that coin counter up... you know you need it I (once) had around 12 mil. or similar, now I'm only at 3.7 mil... but it will suffice for what it's used for - I have only Stallion to upgrade I I'm doing my potion of trials on few tracks per day.

This tells much about my skill or better yet: of my laziness (and some crucial lack of skills). All bikes maxed out and I still suck muchly on ~20 if not 30 tracks, LOL

    Cheers mate.

here is the fun thing, when you play long enough, you will get annoyed at the fact that money and parts are useless in the game

and when you build the special bikes and start upgrading, dont do your final upgrade on one bike b/c i think that cuts off your doughnut pipeline, if you leave that last slot open you keep getting doughnuts and if the offer another special bike, you can upgrade much easier.
