I can't believe it too, same thing on PS4. I have 3 kids, so should that mean I need to buy 3 unlimited accesses? And, I signed up for a full year![]()
Just Dance nowadays is just a big unlimited subscription ad and yet the kids cannot get access to it under their own account. I hope this will addressed but seems this issue has been happening for long and I don't think i've seen any official answer. Oh well!

UGH!!! I wish I had looked in to this. I assumed it was per console too, as when we first got the console, my daughter played it first and then we all had unlimited. So when she was having a party and playing it and realised it had run out, I bought a subscription through the xbox one website, using my account details, thinking it would go on to our home console.. but no! They have to play as me, and we have been trying to work out what we have been doing wrong, rather than just using my account (which I don't want to do, as I use my account for my work outs...) this is super frustrating and annoying. Most other subscriptions I purchase through xbox are shared with all my family on our console.
WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!!! We haven't even used the stupid subscription now, for the whole time.
When will this be fixed? This is so stupid, and such a money grab. I am so terribly disappointed.
Just purchased Unlimited as the primary user on my PS4 console for my daughter. She can't play the unlimited songs unless I'm logged in. Not happy with this at all. It is obvious that Ubisoft does not listen to it's customers or consider this a problem since the issue has been reported for years with no positive response from them. Subscription should be tied to the console.
Same issue on Nintendo Switch. My kids each have their own Nintendo account for their profile. Their accounts are managed by mine and we started the 30 day trial. When I logged in as my son, it asked for the details of the Unlimited account, which I added. Then I noticed when I logged back into mine, it asked for the Unlimited login credentials again.
This is a rather limiting feature for an "Unlimited" subscription!
My daughter wanted to purchase the unlimited and could not because she doesn't have a credit card, and I certainly would not add my credit card to her profile. As everyone else here has commented, the unlimited is only available under my account and so she cannot play without my logging into the account first, which isn't possible.
We're going to cancel immediately and refrain from purchasing any further Ubisoft products.
Hello everyone,
I'd like to provide some clarification regarding this topic, to add to what my colleagues have written previously in this thread.
Just Dance Unlimited is a subscription that applies only to the account used to purchase it. The subscription cannot be shared to any other users on the same console, nor can it be used on another console unless the subscription holder is logged in and connected to their purchasing account.
I appreciate that this information is perhaps not as visible as it could be. Some storefronts, such as the UK PlayStation Store, have the restriction clearly stated ("This Unlockable Content is bound to the primary account and cannot be shared with any sub account."), while others do not appear to - I'll pass feedback regarding this to the Just Dance team, to see if we can look into getting this standardised on all platforms.
I sincerely apologise for any disappointment caused by this.
The fact that this is still run this way is absurd. There isn't clear cut notice that it's tied to the account holder and not the console. Family sharing should be the default, because we are not going to give our kids access to buy digital downloads on their accounts unsupervised.
Ubisoft could easily correct this, but they won't.
Seems to be the attitude with Ubisoft not to be family friendly.
I’ve had even more problems as I initially logged into Ubisoft connect on my sons account which then linked his Nintendo profile (with no payment info) to my Ubisoft account meaning that I couldn’t purchase Unlimited without adding purchase information to his Nintendo profile which I’m not doing. Ubisoft support eventually unlinked the accounts (took over 3 weeks and they pointed out that they would only do this once ever) and I’ve now linked my Nintendo account with Ubisoft connect and purchased unlimited. However now I’ve hit the same issue as everyone else that he can’t access Unlimited on his Nintendo profile so has to use mine!
This is very poor behaviour from Ubisoft and is the only time I’ve encountered such a limitation. Every other purchase I’ve made on the Nintendo store can be shared across all profiles on the console so clearly this is Ubisoft’s decision to screw families over! I already had a poor opinion of Ubisoft from previous experiences on PC and it clearly hasn’t changed. Certainly a reason to avoid the company if possible.
