ANBA Opponent Match-up Gone Wrong | Forums

So I'm rank 18 on Fatality Lane and for some reason this stupid little robot decided it would be a great idea if it matched me up against GTdave... who is rank 1, A FULL 1.2 SECONDS AHEAD OF MY TIME!! I am rank 18... RedLynx plz

This is not the first time I've had it where the robot has matched me up against a MUCH higher ranked opponent (a couple weeks ago I faced Hue-BR on Tribal Homestead while he was rank 8 and I was rank 15, that was bad but I still beat him eventually.) but I've never had it THIS BAD.

Why does the robot not automatically match you up against someone that is 1 RANK above your time?! Why RedLynx?

Have any of you guys experienced this with the ANBA missions? I'd love to here your stories and see if anything can top my awful match-up.

Haven't had one that bad before, but it gave me Rock Wall today, a track I was sitting at roughly rank 30 something on... Took quite a few goes before I beat that stupid robot. There are some tracks I'm in the thousands on, why give me one of my best times to beat??

Are you going to attempt beating Dave? Lol.

PS. I frequently race your ghosts, you've helped me improve a lot of my times. You rock

Happens all the time to me. It's why I don't do ANBA anymore.

Honest, every ANBA run shouldn't have to be a new record; they can choose anybody reasonably close to your PB time as well, and it will still be a challenge. Heck, half my best times were done against opponents who were wwwaaayyy behind my previous best times. No.... This is all about RL not wanting to hand out too much rewards or somethIng.

Wish they would offer up 3-4 tracks and let me choose which to do ANBA on. . . . I would like some choice on what I am going to try so hard on.

I probably wont spend too much time on it, I've beat him to the middle of the track a few times but I always lose a lot of time on the ending skip, I'll at least try and beat my score by a few leaderboard places and probably call it there. I just really wish my 50+ offline best times would actually update when I get back online

I used to get that too. I don't really do ANBA anymore, but last time I had a funny one. It gave me a track (Night Life) that I am very highly ranked on (top 10 I think). The ghost it had me up against was rank 150 or something, a full 1.5 seconds BEHIND my best time. It was weird but I was ok with it. All the times ANBA screwed me it owed me at least one.

I had a good ANBA streak a few days ago, but then it became like the good old ANBA and wanted me to do Traction Testground.. Yeah, no..

UPDATE: I didn't end up beating GTdave's time but I did get rank 3 which is still a win in my books

The robot then promptly matched me with an opponent on the Quagmire, which was also just an absolute joy to beat. Luckily I wasn't too highly ranked on that track so it only took me about an hour of trying, which was actually only the second time I got platinum on that track haha
