Dark Zone Entry Points and Extraction

Hi folks, a few question for you.

How many entry points to the dark zone will there be? Is it related to the areas you have cleared (PvE) and set up your base of operations?

During extraction, is it possible to "hijack" (for lack of a beter word), another persons chopper and extract your loot after you eliminate the other agents or do you have to call your own extraction chopper?

    Thanks

Some pretty great questions. Yes, there will absolutely be more than one point of entry and exit for the Dark Zones, how many specifically however hasnt been discussed yet.

During extraction you can, what we referred to as, "cancel" another players helicopter by either killing the agent who initiated it, or keeping them busy until time runs out. After this takes place yo uwill have the opportunity to call in your own helicopter for extraction. It gets super intense when theres multiple teams trying to extract at the same time.

Thanks Hitman, I am so stoked to play this game. Although I have to wait until early January as I have the CE ordered for pc.

It's gonna be an epic game. Thanks again and see you on the streets of Ney York.

Yeah, as DigitalHitmann mentioned, there will be many different points of entry into the Dark Zone, but as we don't know the exact size of the Dark Zone yet, we can't say how many.
I think the districts / neighbourhoods will have a certain level attached to them (eg: 'X' district will have level 12 and above enemies); but I don't think there is any form of "level boundary" so as long as you can sneak through, you can enter the Dark Zone wherever you want.

And no, there is no option to hijack an extraction. The most you can do is kill everyone to cancel it early, or work together to help secure each other's extraction.

There probably gonna be some natural borders between the districts with contamination or something else that will kill you unless you have the proper gear. Because one of the oldest statement is, that you can go everywhere you want, but they will kill you when you go where you are not supposed to. ^^

Thanks Joker. I had thought it would be as you described.

the question is... can multiple players ( not in the same squad) call and extraction at the same time?
Because that would be a way to get out with less trouble

No, only one extraction can be called at a time per extraction zone.

There are specific areas that you have to extract in, due to the helicopter having to be able to fit. In these zones, one member per group must fire up an extraction flare, at which point, your location will "ping" on the mini-map so that you can be found. However, other agents will also be able to see the "ping", and may come and try to take your loot. You must survive for the full countdown in order to place your loot on the helicopter's winch cable. Once the helicopter has left, the next group will be able to send off an extraction flare and start the process all over again.

No only one squad can extract in one extraction zone. So you have to wait until they are finished. (It can't be that easy ;-) )

What I'm really concerned about is that the zones are pretty much guaranteed to be full of clans camping the exits. Lone wolves will never be able to get out with any loot if a heli is the only option, even small teams of 2-3 are going to have a hard time.

In pretty much every game that has high end loot spawning in a reliable location, it's just going be a massive campfest and be completely unfair for anyone wanting something other than boring stagnant camping gameplay.
