As far as i know, only the voice com works over p2p. The match itself is hosted by dedicated servers.

I actually quite like the game, but will be cancelling my pre-order and wont commit my clan to it.

Even if private matches are dedicated, we'd still like to be able to play public outside of matches ofcourse..

Your core audience is clans, get some dedicated hosting or fail and have your game be empty in 6 months time on all platforms.
    It's not p2p though.
    Other than the voip anyway.

But that just makes it worse. Ubi claim the game is using dedicated servers.
Gotta be the worst dedicated servers I've seen in years.

Would this be why I can fall off rooftops after setting rappelling lines or why I shoot a guy that doesn't see me but instead kills me after I spray the hell out of him, both of us standing still? I understand it is beta, but it is open and soon to release. From what I hear, many of the issues we experience in this open beta have been known for a few months.

Glad I didn't preorder and it came with my new GTX 970 Bullets or Blades.

It really explains why so many players have adopted fast paced run&gun gameplay instead of slower, tactical approach.
Especially Bandit with MP7 is great for abusing peekers advantage.

Quick tid bit on how the servers work.

Yes, they are 'dedicated' but they are not dedicated as PC Gamers are used to being Dedicated. Yes a 'Player' is host. There are actually 3 different host set ups A Team Host (2 players) and a Lobby host (possibily one of the other two hosts but maybe a 3rd it differs each game.) The lobbys are hosted on a dedicated box but they are a 'Virtual' Room/Server. So do the games run on dedicated servers? Yes they are hosted on Dedicated boxes. Are the game servers we play on dedicated? Yes and no. Its part of the reason why they are having so many issues with matchmaking right now and we might not see a fix for the servers themselves for a while which will kill the competitive nature of the game.

I've manage to nail so many kills by rushing, because on my screen I have already started landing shots but on their screen I haven't even came around the corner yet.

    So broken

Hey, do you have any evidence to support this? Don't get me wrong, I completely believe you because that's exactly how I thought it worked myself, but I cannot find any info to support the theory aside from the whole Quazl mess from years past.

Didn't they talk how they want this game in competitive scene

It's not player hosted. All players have latencies. If it was COD-like then one of the players would have 0 ping.

    Host left the game

You log into a server when you start your game up (the closest one to you, but it isn't a local server hosted by you).

You join a group of people, all who have logged into their own closest servers.

It selects one of these people to "host" the game.

I'm pretty sure this is how it works.
Could be, but it said "Host left the game"
