Hi RedLynx team,
firstly, loving Trials Frontier and it's handsdown my favourite mobile game and one that I play every single day. Despite having Trials HD and Trials 2 on PC, I never really got into the series until I was asked to review Trials Evolution, and from there a habit was formed.
Just in-case these kind of threads are deleted as the whining of the entitled masses, please note that I have spent over $120AUD on Frontier. All of it knowingly and willingly.
That amount, by the way, almost eclipses what I've spent on Trials on my 360, PC and Xbox One (I have trials HD, evo, fusion and awesome max on 360, fusion and awesome max on XO and Trials 2, Evo, Fusion and awesome max on PC).
My question is this, will there be any consideration ever given to your big spenders? I don't imagine I'm a huge spender, but it's considerable nonetheless. The latest Challenge 3 pack cost 350 gems at 50% which would make it 700 gems at full price.
As you know, your gem packs are;
200 gems
350 for CPack 3 at 50% off
450 gems
700 for CPack 3 at full price
1000 gems
So I had to buy $12.99 in Gems or $24.99 in gems, either way resulting in me spending more than the stated value of the challenge pack.
Obviously, there's a pricing strategy involved there and I'm sure it's good for business... for now. With what I've spent, I can no longer reasonably spend any more money, you've tapped me out. It doesn't matter what content is offered from here on in, I will not spend more than what I already have. I look at the size of the map and think about how many tracks you can put there... I've unlocked just about everything there is and there's easily room for another 50 tracks. At your pricepoint of around $20 for 5 tracks (which costs more than additions to your console/pc titles), that's another $200. Okay, let's take out the seasonal stuff where you can unlock tracks, either way, there's still a lot more money to be revealed.
Now, Red Lynx, this isn't just about you, this is all the free to play. I do wish though that there was a cap... where you go to market and say "hey, if you really like this game and buy our amazingly well put together content, we'll cap pricing at $X and after that, remove timers so you can have complete access to the content you've paid for". Yes, I did see that I could have paid $45 for that unlimited fuel suit, but come on, that's just silly. It's too much to ask for new tracks to be free, but you could at least pin their price to an actual, available gem pack on the store.
That's all I wanted to say, I'm sure I'm not alone, now I'll go back to that vertical climb part on the Woodwork Conclave. I'm going to gold this thing even if it kills me.
I've spent something like £3 on this game, I have all the tracks other than a couple of Showdown prizes. I spent the £3 because I felt bad about not paying. I also have a degree in Grinding.
lol I also have a degree in grinding. Comes in handy!Originally Posted by Viral_Spiral Go to original post
maxing out all the bikes would take some crazy amount of cash too. you need millions of coins, and tons of gems to instantly finish each upgrade. that ain't happening.
That being said, you could just grind it out. And after the original 9 the crazy bikes and the donkey are instant upgrades.
Hey Fluff,
what do you mean they're instant upgrades?
And for people who've only spent $3, how did you get the challenge packs?
For me, happy to support the devs so we can all enjoywith my schedule there's no way I can do much more than the daily prospector missions and dabble in showdowns and special events.. hence the need to buy gems and coins to upgrade packs (and have gems spare to try and win maps on the wheel... and on a separate note, has anyone noticed the change to payout rates on the wheel? I stupidly sank 50 gems into getting a single map the other day when previously, it would almost always be on the third spin (so around 27 gems at worst).
I begin to see why you spent so much money. I am not sure "Knowingly and willingly" actually applies in this case if you dont know how people are playing this game and getting everything without paying... anything. But its your money and I am glad you feel its well spent; that you feel good about it is all that matters.please note that I have spent over $120AUD on Frontier. All of it knowingly and willingly.

PS: Degree in Grinding? (lol! nice one!) Just call me Professor Grind.![]()
I'm sure it's possible, just wasn't sure of the mechanics of it.
I'd have still paid for tracks, I don't have time to invest in a grinding degree!
Even if I did, I'd also have paid something because as someone said previously, the RedLynx team have done a brilliant job with Frontier and it'd be wrong to just milk it for every bit of free content. In my opinion anyway, I'm sure others might disagree.
How much grinding do you have to do to get all your bikes to 10? I've only been able to max my Tango and it's taking so many races now to just earn the cash to upgrade anything else (most stuff is costing 80k+ coins to move). Clearly, I've maxxed my spend and now need to apply some tricks, so am I right in thinking most people earn the most through the online bunker? Or do you just work existing tracks over and over?
