it seems to be the longer races not the short ones that the AI are aggressive, which is not a bad thing but this is nuts when a AI can get a miles in front seconds after causing a crash.
so please try the longer ones as the shorter ones have already been said to not be a problem, try the over 1 hour ones...
The story line Mazda track Leguna Seca went into the mission with a car spec of 873 requires a spec car of 685. I got passed on a straight away by a spec car at 685. I can play that same mission with a lower car and win the race easily. Thats to me is cheating. The computer cars are terrible terrible drivers. In raid missions they might get ahead of you but they do such a terrible job of driving that half the time they cant make it to the finish line before you. Did another faction race the leading car was a spec 860 I was racing a spec car of 918. He was flat out faster in a straight line then me. The computer is flat out cheating and rubberbanding. Personally when anyone complains about it now I just inform them that it is busted and broken. Until they fix it that is going to be my answer. I am playing this on the pc. Unless your way over what they are driving 1299 vs a 860 then you might win. A car that is spec below the maximum has almost no chance of winning the race.
You can watch how they drive. If you or me drove the same way we would spin out or loss speed. The AI still keeps going at the same speed and never slows down. One of the negatives when this game first came out was that the Ai cheated its way thru races. To me they are doing just that.
Here is a short video of the issue Ivory Towers and for others to watch.
I am leading the race. I have raced this and won this race before the patch. Watch as I take the lead using nos. Watch as the computer catches up and then keeps on gaining speed until he is just going away from me. Ended the video because I wanted to keep it short. Ivory Towers fix your game and the terrible Ai. Its a disgrace. Blah.
well 1st off your using a broken car that doesn't have the speed and 2nd the AI is dumb at times stillOriginally Posted by baddog993 Go to original post
heres my video on the same track using 1299 truck and bike
I agree with this. Yes, the AI now easily takes a few minutes lead in long races (and suddenly stops making mistakes) and are extremely aggressive which makes the short races more difficult. They still make stupid mistakes. Sometimes that is also annoying, like the AI car in second place deciding to just start driving in circles in the middle of the highway, or an AI car that after a heavy collision goes off-road, with a Perf spec car. Placing first in long races, e.g. Highway Child is no longer easy, or is perhaps even impossible, but it makes for a more interesting experience, unless this means that you've wasted an hour without any reward. However I also don't have a problem to place within the first 3 on the few longer races I tried (Route 66, Highway Child and Road to Amarillo). The shorter races have become more of a challenge and have taken me sometimes 2-3 tries to win. It was too easy before the update.Originally Posted by Hypnopaukan Go to original post
It does put me off from finally trying the really long races solo, out of fear that it would be 2-3 hours wasted.
So after testing the longer races i still can't confirm that the AI is so broken that they are a problem like some people here are stating. i did see a huge improvement to the AI during the longer races but i'd hardly say they are unbeatable. rubberbanding is pretty much common in pretty much every racing game (not all but mainly arcade like racers)
If the timer is hard to read it's a 0.22.962 lead before the final checkpoint
I had several mistakes in this race since i'm not very good on bikes. got stopped by traffic due to head on crashes so i could have been a lot further away. regardless this is still a big improvement to the AI considering that they would be like 2-3 minutes behind before the update. Idk why people enjoyed the races being that easy to the point where they were boring
Also some of you might not be aware that drafting is in the game now due to the update. you can get a pretty massive speed boost by just driving behind another car which allows you to slingshot past them
That exact race is too easy when using skyline lvl 1299. I would give him more than 10 seconds gap.Originally Posted by baddog993 Go to original post
I have that McLaren and it's broken, the circuit spec is detuned to around 400hp, go check it yourself!
See the difference between fullstock and the circuit spec
