Bought the game via Steam in rusian, which yeah, thanks for not giving me an option and shoving rusian down my throat. Even though I paid just like everybody else.
But, it won't even launch and crashes on start.
I'm running Dual Xeon CPU E5 series system, with dual GPU Nvidia GTX 680 in SLI.
Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this? Thank you!

what operating system ? 32 bit operating systems are not supported
What exact CPU are you using ?
Have you Closed all background applications before launching the game ?
(yes this includes programs like MSI afterburner EVGA precision and others )
BACKROUND APPLICATIONS may also cause the game to not launch properly and you may need Exit out of them or reconfigure them to work properly with Far Cry 4 known apps that can cause this are
A. EVGA PRECISION
B. MSI AFTERBURNER
C. Riva Tuner Statistics Server
D. DXtory
E. Motionin Joy
F. some Anti Virus or Firewall software (depends on settings)
G. MSI true Color
see this thred to possibly fix issies with afterburner causeing black screen
http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...rcry-4-Crash!?
Please see this Page where it mentions Backround Applications and how you can try to see if one is possibly causeing your issiue with the game NOT starting or hanging

have you Installed the latest version of the Uplay Client as the version that comes with the game on Steam may be an older version ....you can get that here
https://uplay.ubi.com
have your tried the set both Steam and Uplay to Run as Administrator?
try to run as Administrator (if you have the Steam Version)
1.Exit Steam
2.right click on your steam desktop icon
3.select properties
4.select advanced
5.check the box that says Run As Administrator
6.select OK twice to exit (you may receive a prompt asking if this is ok ..select Yes)
( DO the same thing for Uplay )
then try to launch your game
this is an Important Step that may be needed to give Administrative rights to your games and software
in Windows 10 , it may also Apply for Windows 7 , and 8 as well depending on your Windows account settings
also Verify your game files while running Steam as an Administrator
to verify your files if you bought the game thru Steam ..\EXIT Steam ..right click your steam icon ..select run as Administrator
launch Steam
go to your Steam games library
right clik on far cry 4
select properties
select local files
select verify Integrity of game cache
it takes a few min to do but its faster the re downloading your entire game , if its only a few files that were corrupt or installed incorrectly .... this in many cases will fix your problems

Good luck! I hope you find your fix!
Thank you WID992007 for taking time and posting that generic wall of text. Yeah, I'm running 64 bit OS on my Dual Xeon CPU. I don't have any of the background apps you mentioned. Two of the links you've posted are broken. Check your generic wall of text sometimes.
And excuse me for the attidude, I just don't like to waste so much time, trying to make a stupid game work that I should just pay and start.
Requested the refund on Steam. Never again will buy any game Ubisoft or Crytek produces.
i was not aware that UBI removed those two links ..i will edit the post *post edited and bad links removed *Originally Posted by TrigerAl Go to original post
also as to your Dual Xeon question .... Dual core Cpu's are not supported , i have no clue how many cores your CPU has .. nor do i know if multiple Xeon CPU's are supported ..that's a question you'll have to ask UBISOFT support about
sorry you could not find your fix.... good luck with your refund ...........and check your attitude ..as i was only trying to help

Just happened to see this title, is similar problem to mine with Far Cry 3.
I have been playing the game for a few weeks without problem. Today, when I tried to start the game, it first did a Uplay update of about 25MB. Then, when I tried to start the game, I got this error (Far Cry 3):
Problem signature:

I then came to this forum and saw this thread right away. Anyway, I decided to do a reboot of my system (Windows 8.1) After I did the reboot, the game was able to restart as normal.
So, there's that on the good side. I haven't played yet today but at least it starts. However, it still doesn't shut down correctly! When I try to shut down and "Quit to Desktop" right after the game show the opening menu, I now get THIS error trying to shut down...

In other words, it crashes.
Hope this info is a help to someone on fixing this.
P.S. not sure if relevant but I did also recently update my gforce video driver (aside from the uPlay update today).
EDIT: P.P.S. also, I turned off one of my dual monitors, and that may have helped, not sure.
Sorry man, I know you are, this whole thing is frustrating as hell. Used to work in the game industry and I know how customers are treated by majority of the companies out there. Looked down as stupid newbs who somehow got a PC and figured how to turn it on. I know you were trying to help, and its hard to reply to all people without some templates. But some things in your reply triggered that raging monster inside me, sorry for that.sorry you could not find your fix.... good luck with your refund ...........and check your attitude ..as i was only trying to help
P.S.
Got the refund btw. Although it won't pay for the time lost on this issue.
please sir do not blame ubisoft for bad Nvidia drivers .. the same is true with AMD drivers ...in your case i believe that is the problem ,,contact ubi support and open a support ticket ..i have provided the info in my above postsOriginally Posted by darkworldnwild Go to original post
also try older Nvidia or AMD drivers , sorry but it seems to me they are in a race for Direct X 12 benchmarks at this point and have been very sloppy with driver support for this title
You may have a severe reading comprehension problem, or perhaps English is not your first language. I was not "blaming" anyone for anything. Merely recounting my experience in an attempt to be helpful to others, as I also clearly stated. Also note where I said "not sure if relevant...." That's not blaming, perhaps you can understand that now.Originally Posted by WID992007 Go to original post
Sir i understand your frustration .. again i only post in an effort to try to help ...as many users have problems with this and other games ..and 9 times out of ten it comes down to a system configuration problem ..or drivers
sorry if you felt like i was posting a wall of text as b u ll s h it ..i was only trying to be as helpful as some of what i posted can to solve your problems ..so you did not have to deal with UBI support over e mail and text support
as this is the slowest option ..and yes is frustrating at times
but games today are complex and yes you may need to possibly try many options Until you can get a game to launch properly on so many different computer configurations, ...following up on that point ... i did try to give you the options that HAVE worked in helping other users as well as how to contact UBISOFT support
again i apologize if you felt i was posting a wall of useless text ..i was indeed posting it in an effort to help ..as i have had very few ..if any problems with Far Cry 4 here on several systems i use and own ..again good luck with your refund .. i am indeed sorry that the game did not work out for you ..as Far Cry 4 is one of my favorite games
