Trials Frontier, a question of difficulty and grind
I'd like to start off that I first got into the Trials series with the release of Trials Fusion. I climbed up from being a complete noob to somewhat still a noob. It took a while, but I eventually achieved platinum on every track released. At the time it was the Abyss DLC. On a side note, I stopped playing a bit after that, and due to skill decay and laziness I haven't returned. I hope to eventually platinum the remaining DLC, but the difficulty and stress involved has prevented me from doing so.
In any case, that brings me to the main topic at hand. The difficulty of Trials Frontier. With all the tracks currently released, I'd venture to guess that most players would find the most difficult track to 0 fault is Traction Test-ground (Hardest platinum imo is Permafrost Climb). I would say the difficulty of 0 faulting TT is at best as difficult as 0 faulting the easiest extreme track in Fusion, Eye of the Storm, which is barely deserving of the title in the first place. If you bring in Inferno IV or Way of the Machine, these tracks are far far more difficult than anything released in Frontier.
So the question is, is difficulty limited by the fact the that it's a phone app? Certainly I would say so, as Fusion allows far more room for greater precision due to the nature of the controller. However, I feel that in addition to that, the developers have sacrificed truly difficult courses for the grinding aspect of the game. Especially with recent events, Trials Frontier feels like it is more and more about the grind, rather than the heart and soul of Trials, which is the competition and skill climb in venturing to complete harder and harder tracks. There is no such thing as a ninja community in Frontier, which I find is a shame, and our skill cap at the moment are courses barely worthy of the title extreme. I'm not even going to go into the bunker, as the concept of those tickets in a Trials game is an abomination in and of itself. It's also especially disappointing that the most enjoyable and difficult courses are hidden behind these extremely long grinds (ahem Traction Test-ground).
I am going to be honest here and say despite that, I do find playing Frontier far more relaxing. I don't mind too much that the hardest of extremes we see in Fusion are missing. I don't know how many gallons of sweat I lost completing some of those courses (fiddling with some ninjas in trials frontier would be interesting though). Obviously because Frontier is a freemium game we see the grind, but couldn't there be some other way of making money besides ruining the nature of Trials itself?
TLDR: Get rid of the grind (or most of it) and please release more skill based content. Additionally, unlock tracks behind SKILL gates, NOT grinding gates.

While I agree with this, I really just want the game to run properly and for the leaderboards to properly reflect our status as riders. Otherwise, who cares how hard or easy the tracks are? I have seriously contemplated leaving in the past few weeks, and the only thing keeping me here is my terrible habit of being a completionist and never wanting to give something up. I suppose you could say that's a good habit, but man, it's tedious.
