    Extraction: B1E-Troglodyte -- design flaw?

This new map was highly rated when I played it. There seems to be a design flaw.

If you use stealth to bypass the first enemy camp while only killing the minimum possible number (I recall killing ~3), you can go on to the end with no opposition at all. Seems like an interesting map layout so this was disappointing. My guess is that the wave triggers were set inappropriately. In an extraction mission, you aren't required to kill anyone, so it's risky to set a trigger to a large value.

You are correct NLRicker, I play stealth when I can, I made it half way through the 1st camp and got spotted, ran to the next area and never saw another AI. Zero kills. In extraction it's a good idea to spread all waves out al over and normally have several AI die automatic, such as placing 1 AI from wave 1 over water so when he drowns wave 2 spawns. I do this with all waves if I think it's needed. Other than that it's a pretty good map. Spent quite a bit of time looking around because there was nobody trying to kill me. Looks very nice

Not wishing to hijack NLRicker's thread, but I did want to acknowledge your personal map-making skills: I'm 70 yrs old, and have been playing the FC series since day one, actively engaged (with JRavens and Bontainer) in modding FC4, and now switching to map modding. Another equally ancient old fart down in the States, and I have been playing on-line for a couple of weeks now - first-timers - and have begun learning to mod maps ourselves. We have found and have played every one of your maps, and reckon most all are the best we have come across, our favourite being 'Under Seige'.

I don't know how many "Thank you's" you get, but here are two, very humbly, in appreciation of your talent!

    Thank you!

Thank you very much pj_3! It's nice to hear once in a while. I've made over 60 maps for PC and everyone of them I tried to make enjoyable to the average player. I really don't care about the ratings but I do want them to get played and enjoyed. It's impossible to make a map everyone will enjoy. I would make some bow only or even machete only but most wouldn't like it and not many plays, so I don't do that. Creating a good map is too much work if nobody wants to play it.

I appreciate your response and comments on map making in general.

I know how long it takes to generate a map that's fun to play (for some, at least). It would be nice if in addition to the rating system there was a fast way for players to submit comments. This forum seems like the only mechanism. It's not very convenient for players who'd like to briefly document pros and cons before moving on to the next map.. Am I missing something?

The Far Cry 4 web site under Browse the Map Library, if you click on a map, each map has a place for comments. But I'm sure it doesn't work, never seen a comment, tried to post a comment...no luck

Have you tried the Far Cry 4 Map Editor at Facebook? A lot going on there.
