Ya gone dun it again Ubisoft...
This time I'm an outsider being drawn in by a new take on a series, but I still don't agree with it.
I experienced it as a fan of assassin's creed with black flag.
Black flag is a very fun game, but it is weak in one aspect that was important to many long time fans like myself, the story. It did not belong in the AC story. IMO they would have been much better making some minor tweaks to the story and making it a stand alone game.
Now they are doing the same thing with primal. It looks like a good idea, and I give them props for trying something new, but I can see how it is disappointing to many fans of the series.
Ubisoft, if you want to try something new, go for it. Don't think you need to force it where it doesn't belong just so you can ride on a brand name.
Your point with black flag was the story that didn't fit in the AC universe. What's your point for Primal?
I mean, surely that's not the story since none of the numbered issues of the franchise have been linked by a cohesive storyline. The core of Far Cry is pitting man against nature and itself. Well, that's exactly what Primal seems all about. Sure there is no RPG and stuff, but that's the idea. FC3 and 4 were all about sneaking, slitting thoats, stalking animals and firing arrows, then something blowing a buffalo or a rhino with C4. The stealth approach was praised, well now we got a game based on such idea.
I agree that it could have been named differently, made by someone else but I don't get why it's a problem. They had the idea (at the Far Cry brand), they made it.
Sorry I was distracted when posting.
Like I said, I have not played far cry before. But I see many people complaining about the lack of guns, multiplayer, vehicles etc. Where in the case of black flag it was the story.
I was not saying that someone else should make it, just that they could easily call it "Primal" and not upset the long time Far Cry fans.
AC 4 could easily have been called "Black Flag" and been an awesome stand alone game.
My main point is Ubisoft needs to stop trying to attract new players at the cost of disappointing the customers who made a brand successful in the first place.
all the numbered games have the jackal in it sometimes as major character sometimes he is only spoken of so there is some kind of story linked to each partOriginally Posted by angstik Go to original post
