weapon collection instead of unlock weapons when level up?

i mean this is a open world game right? So why not we give up the traditional level up and unlock system in many other games, and replace it with a weapon collection system?

Like at the beginning of the game, the Ghosts only have some basic weapon like maybe Ar-15s,MP5 etc,and without attachments. And you have to find the better weapons and items youself in the open world, like find a enemies' weaponry,a dropped supply box from friendly aircraft, etc. And once you find the new weapon you can store them and change to them, maybe also need a weapons store system or just simply hide your weapons in some outpost you captured?

And you also need to find some attachments or even a weapon workshop to upgrade you weapon?

And maybe same to some other things like vehicles and items?or even some useful NPCs that would help you, like you rescue a local soldier captured by enemies and he can give you some new skills for upgrade your weapons.

I think adding more of a survivalists approach to the series would be great. I do not like level locked content, but I dont just want all the weapons given to me. I want to find the next weapon by securing it, not unlocking it.

One of the missions that pops up in the E3 reveal trailer is Mojocoyo Bravo, described as Upgrade Gear. I'll be headed over to that one quite soon after starting.
Right i remember that, but may also a simple level up thing.

That's excatly what i mean. And I dont think the collection system would be make the game unfair cuz it's mainly for coop.

I like the idea of collection being the primary source of weapons. However, I don't think it makes sense to drop a special forces squad in the middle of hostile territory with nothing but a bare AR-15 (a civilian firearm btw, you would want a M-4 or M-16).

I think you should be given the option to create your own fully customized loadout at the beginning, then if you want something different you have to find it in the world.

You would be given the choice of any 1 long gun and 1 handgun, with the exception of foreign made weapons like the AK-47, and any combination of attachments for those 2 guns. There would be a short prologue where you train in the U.S. so you can experiment before you commit to a loadout. This would include a firing range similar to Future Soldier.

Once you have made your decision, you have to loot weapons and attachments to expand your arsenal, and you can swap attachments with compatible weapons (for example: suppressor 2 can be removed from rifle A and placed on rifle D, but not rifles B C or E).

Also, every few months in game time, you can get a small airdrop that includes a very small number of weapons, attachments, ammo, new camouflage patterns, body armor and/or explosives. These drops would be few and far between, and limited in space, so you must choose very carefully what to put in them. Then you must choose a time and location to call it in without the parachute attracting attention from the cartels.

As much as I love rpgs I don't want unlocking/leveling up in my Ghost Recon. Ghosts are elite not some cadets that get better.
I'd be fine with Radar's suggestion even though personally I'd go bit more hardcore withot the drops and just loot and perhaps Black Market that doesn't have superior stock.

I think id rather have monetary system where you ear money for jobs you do and side missions along with grade points based off your approach and that way your rewarded for attacking a mission appropriately but not really penalized for doing it however you wish just bonus points or something to that effect. Similar to MGSV worked out really good the whole base thing and resources and the monetary system they used was absolutely amazing it wasn't hard to achieve but you got to spend the money on upgrades you wanted not misc. crap your never gonna use.

PS or even a combination where you can pick up weapons in the field and return with them, but what about the weapon you layed down in the field? Do you loose it?

    Just my .02 cents

Actually I dont really like the MGS thing(Though I already play MGSTPP for almost 200 hours),it's just another kind of level up things.I mean, the dev said the Ghosts are behind enemy lines,so they shouldn't have so much supports like Big Boss in MGSTPP.And this make the developments system like MGSTPP make no sense to Ghosts.

I agree also that because of the behind enemy lines you shouldn't get paid after missions. Sure if some local asks you to do something maybe then. But I'd go more to the route that you might find drug money on missions and take that.
