Previously, I submitted a post about the loss of the controller-free navigation feature for Xbox One. Today, that post is missing.
I contacted technical about the loss of the feature, and they said to make a post here in the forum, so that is what I am doing.
In previous versions of Just Dance, being able to navigate and play the game completely without any form of hand-held controller was one of the best features of the game. The game is worse without this feature (IMO).
I could always use the Xbox controller to navigate the game, but why would I want to? That's a step backwards for the development of the game.
The following is part of my previous post:
"What can I do to push for getting the controller-free navigation feature back into the game?"
"Without this feature, I will not be playing the game as much, and I probably will not purchase future versions. And I do not intend to renew my Just Dance Unlimited subscription (beyond the 3 months that I have now). Also, because of my past praises of the game, one family member and two friends have purchased prior Just Dance versions. But given the loss of such a crucial feature, I will not be promoting the game to my family, friends and coworkers as I have in the past."
Please, put the controller-free navigation back in the game.
I noticed that I made a mistake calling the feature "hands-free" navigation. I meant "controller-free" navigation. I can not change the title of the post.
I agree.
It could seem like such a minor thing, but this makes all the difference to me. When you have a party of friends over, and you want to just keep playing, but someone has to go get the controller again between each song . . . it really is annoying and kills the mood. Sort of like being at the club, and everyone is dancing having a good time, and the DJ stops due to technical difficulties. Really ruins the vibe.![]()
The title of my post is not correct. I accidentally called it "hands-free navigation". I meant not needing to use the hand-held controller. Before, in previous versions of Just Dance for Xbox One, you only needed gestures (hand motions) to do almost everything in the game. Now you have to use the hand-held controller.
You can still start the song by saying "Just Dance", but you can not navigate the menus and make selections . . . like you could in the previous versions. If I already have to have the controller in my hand to navigate and make selections, I might as well start the game with the controller. What great feature is it to be able to start the game vocally at that point?
I guess other platforms did not ever have full controller-free navigation like the Xbox One did. I just do not understand why such a great feature like that would be removed.
And if you had walked away from the game to rest or whatever, when you came back, all you had to do was raise you hand to start it all back up again and get dancing again. Now . . . have to go get the hand-held controller again.
My fiends and I literally used to play the game for several hours at a time. And I used to be such a big promoter of the game to my friends and family. Not now.

I put in JD2014, LOVED the interaction using just my hands.
Pop in JD2016..... WTH??? I have to use the controller just up to 1second before the dance starts!??!?
Please bring back this functionality. I mean it was already there, and you dropped it? That is not an upgrade in my book.
My guess is that maybe you took it out because it interfered with your JD phone controller app somehow? But surely you don't sacrifice features to add features. That's bad programming.
