    Anyone noticed any difference between AI Hard and Heroic?

    Hi all!

    Anyone noticed any difference between AI Hard and Heroic? If you've played both and saw any differences let me know

    Also, is there is a way to let the AI have more resources than the player at the start of the game? (just like in H3).

    Everything I mention below is for custom maps and the setting for each AIs directly (not the map settings normal/hard/heroic that only affect neutral stacks number and your initial amount of resources).

    I don't think level of AI affects how they play but it affects a lot the amount of creatures they have :

    Normal AI : few units and I don't know whe'n they start to get legendaries units
    Difficult AI : more units (look reasonable considering the time spent for someone that did not expand to much yet had access to much more ressources than they really took) and I believe they get legendaries at some point.
    Heroic AI : huge armies (similar to what you'd get from two castles from the start), get legendaries from week 4. A typical battle at about the 6th week would be
    1000 assassins/ 500 demon hunters / 500 troglodytes
    133 medusas, 70 faceless 20 taurens
    7 dragons
    In hard it would be a lot less and in normal neutral stacks are much more challenging than opponent AIs.

    so whats the Point? u think the AI gets free creatures on higher difficulty Levels? if so, i dont think so since dev have said AI doesnt cheat, however they do start with more ressources on heroic and there could have more Units on heroic of course, i dont know if they get ressource boost in hard but probably but less i would guess, beside that i dont think there is any diference

    ai isnt the smartest anyway, it has his rules and even different rule sets for different dificulty Levels would be nice they arent there atm

    I believe hard AI starts with more resource than us and maybe get bonus resources each week and heroic AI has more bonuses and also gets many bonus creatures at the start of each week. I 'll try to confirm/prove it when I get time. For now it's more feeling : hard AI had less army than me every time we'd meet while heroic would have much, much more troops. I'll try give precise exemple this week end.

    I've just spectated 4 different AIs on my team and see how they've played. Easy was by far the slowest, least hero, lowest lvl town etc.
    Normal and Hard didn't seem much different, Hard had higher level town by 1 lvl but army seemed similar. But Heroic somehow had 160 Legionnaires in 3 weeks (which is possible, but still. and 75 upgraded crossbowmen too.

    I wish this game would simply allow us to control the starting resources for each player/AI and the AI would be smarter. Me and my gf enjoy playing 2 vs 6 games in H3 and I wish we could have more fun in H7 too. Just that usually spellcasting by AI is so dumb.

    I play only on Heroic - all settings and game seems very easy and becomes boring. It doesn't matter if AI gets more creatures (although I don't think that's the case) because it will split them among 2-3 heroes. It doesn't matter if he has more creature than you, because its hero will be with very low level. To give you an example I met a heroitc AI on a medium map in month 1, week 1 and I was level 20 (with Solmyr) and he was level 4. It's teue that week 2 event was half experience, but still I could manage. He had twice my army, but because of the better hero I didn't lose anything. Actually after 2 chain lightings he's army was close to 0. The town was developed pretty decent - level 22 (I had level 30)., but no he disn't have last level creature. Near castle all mines apart 1 sawmill were intact. Resources not picked... A few heroes with 0 armies running for their lives. Pretty pathetic.

    ai barely fights neutral armies, it takes lot of time to develop his Castle and to build lots of hereos, later on it will fight a bit more and also have a higher lv hero with a big army, however if u dont wait too Long to attack the AI u'll normaly have an easy win

    I see you are several to doubt heroic AI cheats and get bonus creatures so here's the proof :

    Everything happens on the first week of second month, 5th week in total (what victorash would call month one week 0 or 1 I don't know).
    First pic is half the army of the elves :


    I won't mention the core units even if on total they had at this point 350 pixies, 160 wood spirits, etc as they got many heroes and they could come from that. Maybe.

    Notice the 14 deers. You can't buy the building before week 2. It gives you 2 deers when you build it. The building to increase the growth requires that your town is level 15 at least -> w3.
    So max number of deers:
    w1 : 0
    w2 : 2
    w3 : 4
    w4 : 8
    w5 : 12 ... and here we're at 14.

    Now there is a hero that starts with a deer so 13 would be possible at that point. And I did not check there is no hero that can increase their growth but still that's a lot of 'if' to try justify one stack while they all seem quite big (for half an army).


    Second screenshot should clarify every remaining doubt you may still have :


    Now it does not look so big does it? A lot of golems but that's possible, same with gargoyles. Few of everything else ... but birds.
    Birds require your city to be lvl 15 which means here are the max number you can have :
    w1:0
    w2:0
    w3:1
    w4:2
    w5:3 yet here they have 4 !!!

    In conclusion : AI cheats.
    I am not saying IA are especially challenging but let's be honest it already wasn't the case in the games before : if you played well you could win against all the AIs with little to no loss since heroes 4. In H3 the lack of ressources at start was harder to compensate and the one and only true difficulty you had.

    Here what is frustrating is that AI does not fight neutrals (in heroic it has infinite resources but it still needs XP) and once you take their area you see how little they have done. Fights in themselves though don't feel much easier or harder than previous games (harder than H6 with dinasty of course but somewhat similar to the 5).

    Heroic air get additional resources and creatures. It doesn't play smarter or make better decisions.
