I have exactly the same issue - as far as I can tell from the brief description.
I've issued a support ticket but it's been about a month and I've had two replies, both of which weren't quite as helpful as I would have liked. I understand that every PC is a "beautiful snowflake" in their respective uniqueness, but there must be something that has messed with the launcher. I had no trouble playing them a month or so ago, and now FC4 (and WD for that matter) don't start, I don't even get an error message (which would be amazing, because then I may be able to fix it). The launcher comes up with the "Synchronising Save Games with Cloud", which blinks off and then the uplay menu box lights up the blue play button again. The odd thing is that uplay is able to launch both Splinter Cell Blacklist and Far Cry 3 for me, but not Far Cry 4 or Watch_Dogs.
I've tried turning off the overlay, the save game synch, any other overlays that might be running (AMD Gaming Evolved). I've tried restarting my computer with basic service function through msconfig, and turning off my anti-virus. I've reinstalled, validated files, uninstalled and reinstalled C++ 2010 and DirectX, there just doesn't seem to be anything that helps.
So I'm casting this question out into the ether of the ubi forums in hopes that someone will know the magic words to make these once playable games playable again.
Thanks in advance.
I bought the game, and i did all how its need to be done. But when i try to start the game Uplay is opening and than gameis starting and after the little loading screen "Far Cry 4" comes the black screen. i dont understude why, i tryed to fix it with some added files but nothing... Tell me what i need to do.

I was able to play it a few months ago but now it doesnt even start like jwalts say
Had the same problem. Last played a month or so ago and about 200+ hours before that. Went to Uplay's home page, clicked on FC4 and hit play. Got the loading screen with the rotating balls in the lower right corner and nothing after that...........after trying a bunch of things but thankfully not a reinstall...........FOUND A SOLUTION.............went to the programming files on my computer........."C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\FarCry 4\bin\FarCry4.exe"................and started the program from there. Worked like a charm. Started right up like it always did. Put a short cut on my desktop. Might be wrong but I think the problem has something to do with UPlay updating their site over the last month or so. Would bet that some of the hot keys are sending the wrong signal for some people. I now have 2 short cuts for FC4. One is what I have shown above and the other has a WEB Document (uplay://launch/420) in the properties instead of a shortcut tab. Think this the problem somehow.
