So you can add Steam friends manually? How?

I entered in a name and it was unable to find it after I verified it was correctly spelled.

I only have 8 Steam friends on list.

Having the same issue. Ubisoft, please fix.

So there is no way to play with your friends if you have uplay and they have steam based version of The Division?
I heard about that steam users will play the uplay version even they have bought the game on steam =)

Knock Knock... Hello Technical Support are you there?

There are still many of us that CAN NOT link our steam accounts.

Still waiting for a response to even one of my multiple posts to Support Staff....

So when the support staff can not find a solution they stop responding altogether?

    Unacceptable customer service.

    Hey guys,

We are looking into this issue,
To add friends manually you'll have to type in their Uplay usernames, not their Steam usernames.

For those having issues with getting the link screen to appear after unlinking their Steam accounts:

    1. You MUST install a Steam game that requires Uplay. Check your Uplay games list for an idea of which games these are.
    2. Before logging out of Uplay, take a note of the email you used to register your Uplay account, you will need to re-enter your email and password once you logout (click on your avatar and go to Account Information to find out).
    3. Log out of Uplay. Close the window that appears after you log out (this will close the application).
    4. Launch the game from Steam. Steam will then launch Uplay and you will be prompted to login to Uplay.
    5. Right after you login, before the game is even launched, Uplay will ask if you would like to link your Uplay account with Steam.

Ubisoft, please make it easier to re-link Steam accounts, this method is highly unintuitive and strenuous.

Unfortunately, this did NOT resolve the issue for me.
I still get the error when importing friends from Steam. "Something went wrong. Your Steam friends could not be imported." is the error message. I have 248 Steam friends, for what it's worth. I hope this issue gets fixed soon. To be frank, Ubisoft had the whole of The Division beta to figure this out and fix it.

    Really

Seriously DEVS, make it harder for us. You had to make a loophole where we need a uplay game on steam to be able to do this. We have friends on steam and we may not have games on steam that requires uplay. Seriously? Do something about this stupid loophole because honestly, it's stupid. You were already there by making it possible to link friends from steam here you just had to do it half-assed. Please fix this asap.

Could not of said it any better... a simple "LINK STEAM ACCOUNT BUTTON" which would actually make life easier.. So for me to link my account I have to download a game I have no intention of playing via steam just to link my account... Are u ****ing kidding me?
