Can't say I've seen much of summer, or spring for that matter... Having said that, I'm thinking of putting on my bikini and hitting the beach the next time the clouds decide to disperse. (Knowing my luck, it'll be in the middle of winter.)
Am keeping well, though. Hoping to get more time online after the summer passes, just to annoy you all

@braders & gerble, LoL.. That's gotta be bummer and a blessing always getting rain. The good thing about it is that at least you don't get like 40 degree Celsius days. It really puts a damper on getting out and enjoying the beach and BBQ's with all that rain. When the rain stops, it feels good.

I've got a passport and plan on making a trip there sometime. Just planning on eating some fish & chips, tour the DERWENT factory, and getting kissed by the Queen or maybe even Knighted if I have the time.
Have yourself the best there is.

Thanks booped! @ that Sir Mower
You Brits got me really curious about what it must be like to live in such a influential and well loved country. I turned to google for answers to the tough questions I have about it. My first question I had was, "how much rain does Britain get per year"?
Answer- Annual precipitation averages for the entire UK are 133 days of rain or snow, totalling 885 millimetres (33.7 inches).
And that answer is the average. Meaning this can easily have more added, which is already a LOT! Concrete structures would be trickier to build in this type of environment especially transporting large batches of concrete and keeping the mix dry. Just a thought to take into consideration when viewing the local architecture there. Also preventive maintenance by painting steel structures because of salty sea air and the need to combat corrosion.
What fish is used in the famous Fish & Chips found in this British delicacy?
Answer- North Atlantic cod.
That is battered and deep fried. Yes this is delicious. If you have never had cod, then I feel sorry for you. This is a very clean, thick white boneless meat fillet. It's not that oily meat with strong fishy taste commonly found in other types like salmon.
What type of potato is used in making Fish & Chips? Well.... I asked this a while ago. Chips here come flat or wavy, from slicing off a sliver of a potato and deep frying it. When England makes chips, they cut a good chunk off the potato and deep fry that. What we call in America for the version known as french fries is the English chips.
So I'm looking forward to England. I actually quit smoking a couple weeks back. After doing that for over 25 years I am looking forward to what else I might now be able to save up with and afford. Cigarettes have been really expensive here. I used to buy a pack for under 2 bucks in 89. Now it's close to ten bucks per pack. I was able to save half per pack by rolling my own the past five years. I'm actually crave free now, which is a strange feeling in itself. When my normal way of life deviates to non existence in regards to smoking.
It has been a pleasure as always. Cheers for that. I'm still very busy on my drawing. Getting more serious on the professional side. I will always make time for the good old folks here at OTHG though. Take care.
A local food place here making a delicious fish sandwich and fries (chips). Best fish I've ever tasted. Had myself one just this last week.
I'm looking forward to having that experience outdone and would like to hear recommendations to the places I should go on my quest of the best British fish & chips there is.
Here is a simple recipe in making Tarter Sauce.
- serving of Mayo
- finely chopped pickle (the relish)
- teaspoon of lemon juice
- salt or sugar to preferred sweetness/taste (depending on pickle used)
That's it.. simple and delicious. Anything else is optional, like creme de la tarter seasoning, or other spices and herbs being added.

How's everyone doing? Hope you're well.
I was checking out travel sights to Ireland today. Armagh is on the top of my list for places to go. Love Ireland.
Had an extra 5 min. of free time so I'm here to give you all some of this,....
this.....
what this here, is.
Music about rain while listening to it actually raining where you may be at. While you may be hoping it stops raining so that you can finally get out and enjoy the sunshine. It's relentless... melancholy, ironic, and unfair. Here's to make up for your misfortunes. Which I know doesn't help.
Take it easy gang!

Hey you.
How are you doing today? I'm back again, yippy ! Yae !! HOORAY !!! 4 f*cks sakes.... calm the dust bunnies down, hey.
To prove I approve of England and The Cumberland Pencil Company, I'm excited to say I've ordered their new line of pencil they will be releasing soon.
https://www.derwentart.com/a/314089?

The DERWENT Procolour 72 count
pre ordered from BLICK art materials and should arrive Aug. 21st. Costed (squiggly "L" 137.75 in England I think?) $139.99 plus $5.01 tax equals One hundred forty five bucks here.
This is the first time I've bought artists pencils without having a look at reviews first. I had no clue these were a thing until today. I was just looking up the light-fast rating on the peachC560 and Lichen GreenC500 coloursoft pencils I was about to use. Going to the Derwent website shows the new product.
Did anybody else here know about this before I did and not tell me about it?
(I will take a picture of my avatar running over your avatar. Then use that picture as my new avatar out of how pissed off I would be about this you know!!!)
rudemod and others with distinguished taste in jazz will appreciate this stellar pick.
It's made in 1935 in Britain. Listen and learn about your heritage. This is a delightful number.
Never say goodbye, but rather chose to say the German phrase
"Auf wiedersehen"
which translates to "until we meet again."
