In the words of pink Floyd
"hello is there anybody in there?
just nod if you can hear me.
is there anyone home?"

I tried nodding, but then I realised noone could see it...
Sure are quiet times in the forums, I guess we are all waiting intensely for some more news from RedLynx?
Thankfully parties still happen on the x1
I've unlocked all my festivals in FH 3, and my hype has died down a little bit. Still a gorgeous game, though.
Also I downloaded Gems of War... I blame Shakey for all the hours of my life that I am about to lose to that game

Hi,
Good day to you, hoping you're enjoying your vocations away from the club house.
Got 3 tracks I'm building in Trials that I'm excited for to get built. They are:
- A beach themed track I'm hoping to title "Rude beach", because nude and rude(mod) goes together nicely.
- A Recola cough drop mountain biking yodle track.
- A monster truck stadium track.
Take care

hope youre all doing well?
@RL: where is our trials game?????
have a great weekend all.
EDIT: so im all caught up on the thread again, phew! it still took some time to get through all the posts
despite the "threads dead" vibe. (all rudy's bloody tunes
)
@Booped: well that was pretty interesting.
I went into your Bowie/Cobain post, thinking its gonna be bowie, no question.
but no, even though I have never liked Nirvana & I mean EVER, cant stand em & do like Bowie (ziggy era only)
I thought he sang it better than Bowie, hands down. (based soley on the 2 vids)
@????
@????
@???
I had written notes while reading the thread but goto the shop in my break & aparantly its disappeared & no one has seen it,
CIVVIES are completely f'@%$n useless!, no really!! (present company accepted)
so to everyone that's posted, I either agreed with your point or I didn't.
when I saw JoeRegs & Rudy's posts I thought, yes were in, this has to be trouble!
Oh I remembered a couple of my notes.
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY SHAKEY
@Nova: that sucks geezer. I went to turn on my XBONE the other day and it bleeped but no light on the console & no picture.
after losing my sh!t & blaming it all on Ubisoft (well probably) I turned it off.
next day, same thing but this time I tried the disc eject button & that turned it on, good stuff (coz if it breaks I aint buying another XBone)
@bassa: my other half has been offered a job in Norway, to say we are tempted to move out, would be an understatement.
I really love sledging!! & I have a really warm arctic parka.
Edit (again):
I have remembered another of my notes & as its a pretty important one, I thought I best come back & sign back in.
WENTWORTH!
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
stop it, its B....................................X!

@k2nph- You're a great writer and I dig your tracks. I still remember on Evo you had your first Rattler only, Parana only, Scorp and ect. tracks like the 7b1t thing. That was a lot of fun. Really curious if you are building a track, or planning something?
Cheers

K2, that's awesome, any idea where in Norway that would be? The winters here fare quite differently depending on where you are. I'm just south of Oslo in the south east, and we usually don't get too much snow (though we do get some), while the north of Norway don't even see the sun for a few months. Either way I would say go for it

@RM: I did write you a good reply but ubisoft decided, i needed to write it all out again!!
@UBISOFT: Now i remember why i stopped posting regularly!!
@RM: answer no2. thank you & yes ive been in the editor, just need more free time.
1-2hrs in the editor for me is just not long enough & thats the best i can get at the moment.
Ill check ur tracks out shortly.
@bassa: Im not sure mate but i will find out & report back......
Right gotta run, im at work @5 in the morning & that means only 1hr or so on the bone.
@K2* Warning.....
dont post this before copying the text.
If ubisoft lose it again, the probability of a damaged phone, is high!

Got HLC tracks picked and posted. Sorry about the art style of my layout. I tried covering up as much of the explicit nude background picture as I could, but some bewb still shows on the left.
Have a great week gang.

@Bigbow: As promised, hope it helps. (I will post it in sections as ive already lost the post once)
Guitar learning apps & software, using a game-ish format.
Rocksmith - You know about this one (I have read that there is significant lag when playing, this will just not be helpful when learning, more research needed on this one)
available platforms: Consoles/PC
Yousician - Similar to Rocksmith & I found no initial problems, however I have not had the time to explore this software fully but its free (with in app purchases) so you can try it.
available platforms: PC/Android/iOS
Song Chords & Tableture sites/app
on the example: the letters at the top of the scale (Em) - is the chord you play & when you play it (most will have lyrics below so you know when to strum)
the numbers on the scale are the fret number that the note should be played on (ie: 2 should be played on the second fret) & the line the number is on, represents the string to be played.
an example of tablature & chords

Ultimate guitar tabs & chords: I personally love this app & it is always on my phone/pc, It has about 800,000 songsheets, (I checked & there are loads of the doors
) so it should keep you busy for a while.
available platforms: PC/android/iOS (free with in app purchases).
there are loads of others if you search for "guitar chords & tabs" but this is the most comprehensive & user friendly.
I checked this morning & it offers quite a good selection of beginner lessons too.
What you need to learn first:
How to tune your guitar by ear.
I advise that you learn to do this & not rely on electronic or pipe tuners to start with (you can use these later once you've learnt the proper way)
there are advantages to an electronic tuner, for instance when carrying out a more complicated tune (known as alternatives), for use with a slide etc there are simply too may combinations for my brain to keep track of but for now, you just need to learn the standard tuning.
"standard tuning defines the string pitches as E A D G B E from lowest E to Highest E
standard tuning is used by most guitarists"

so what does the pic above mean?
place your finger on the top E string on the 5th fret shown in the example by A & hold it down,
now pluck the E & the A string separately (top string then next one down)
you will alter with the nuts at the top of the guitar (the bit that winds the string) & tighten or loosen the SECOND string until both plucks sound the same, what you are trying to achieve is that both strings play EXACTLY the same note. (in the example this is represented by the dotted arrow)
this is a little hard to explain in type, so I would go on you tube & search for an example of "standard tuning" so my ramblings may make a little more sense.
Basic Chords:
FOR THE TIME BEING ONLY LEARN THE MAJOR CHORDS (E G B D F A C)
don't worry there are loads of songs that use only major chords infact oasis made an entire career out of only four chords C Am Em F G

Theres no getting round learning chords & I advise that you learn finger chords & not cheat & use bar chords, trust me on this, if you learn bar chords only & you will struggle later on (bar chords are easy to remember & you can fly up & down the fret board easily (they feature heavily in Rock/metal etc for this reason). what is not quite so easy, is to play ALL the notes in the chord clearly, (ie:when you strum down each string, there are no dull flat notes) its much harder than it looks, especially on an acoustic guitar,
I also advise that you learn your fingered chords on an ACOUSTIC guitar, again take the easy route & learn on an ELECTRIC & you will struggle later on, I know people that have learnt on an electric & when handed an acoustic it sounds dog rough. (this is because its harder to press the strings down on an acoustic, compared to an electric, (this is called "the action")
Another great learning resource:
You tube & in particular a channel that ive used loads of times, when I cant quite work out that fast complicated bit in a song im learning.
or what exactly I should be doing at a certain point.
UnitedWeTabCom
there you go buddy if you have any questions, just ask.
Remember to keep it fun, if its not you wont want to practice, look through the songs & pick ones that you REALLY like.
see you lot later on xbone
