New Outpost Map "Snake Canyon Mine"

Well, I think this is my last map, at least for awhile. It should be a challenge. Unlimited ways in, plenty of safe places to hide or escape pursuit.
I can't do any better than this one so I think this is a good place to stop.

    Hope you enjoy it!

Just played this. Probably your best yet. Definitely the most difficult of yours that I have played. Was on my forth (arrgh!) unfinished play through before finding the actual mine. And it couldn't have come at a better time. I had been using the river for cover and escape over and over, and came up in a new spot only to get pinned down by sniper fire pretty quickly, Then I saw the mine entrance, or exit, as the case may be. Saved my life, and thankfully there was ammo inside to make the find even sweeter.

One weird thing occurred while i was sniping from the mine entrance. Some AI threw a Molotov or other fire causing weapon my way, and it missed me but started a small fire in front of the mine that very slowly followed the tracks right into the mine. I thought for sure it would burn itself out, but it kept coming and coming and eventually forced me into the other room and out the the way I had come in. Just one of those odd unexpected events that keep this game interesting.

Sorry to hear you may be giving up map making, but I understand. You have made so many and it must be starting to get old for you, particularly with the limitations of the map editor making creativity much more difficult. Hope you'll reconsider. Although pretty soon I'll have Fallout 4 to play. It's been a long drought for me, as I only play first person single player games these days. Far Cry maps have kept me going. Thanks again for all your great efforts.

Thanks Guys! I also thought it was my best. I found the same thing with the tracks burning only I started the fire blowing the propane in the warehouse. It burned all the way to the end of the tracks, however it took a long time. I liked the way the terrain looked so much I decided to use it in an Extraction map I reused the mine with some changes but deleted everything else. Added to and changed the terrain quite a bit. This one may take a while as I am in no hurry. I am not that good at gameplay for extraction so will have to give it some thought as I go. It will cover the entire map. A lot of work.

Thank you FrankenHerold! I see it got a bunch of dis-likes, however it has the highest percentage of Favorites of any map I've seen. Almost 20% of times played. I've found that if favorites are 10% or more the map is worth playing. A much better indicator than the number of stars it gets, (or a combination of the 2 maybe).

Where do you find those informations about your map?
InGame I found only how often it was played and the number of Favorites. But not the number of dis-likes.
It's a pity, that you cannot find out, WHY you got a dis-like.

It's at the Far Cry 4 Website under Map Editor. Just pick your platform and then find your map

For some reason PC doesn't show the Creator but other platforms do. They need to fix that.

Interesting. I'm running a little over 10% favorites on my newest map. I always felt many favorites were a good sign as well. Maybe it's indicative of a combination of difficulty, such as "damn! died a again, I better favorite this one", and replay value - meaning there's enough variety or different ways to approach the objective to make it worth another play, even after you beat it. Of course it has to be interesting and enough fun to be worth playing through once first.

Anyone know how a map can have a different rating at the Far Cry website than it does in the in game map browser? Are they separate databases and not connected?
