    Signal Fires

    Okay.....

So do you think we will have to light 50 signal fires across the map in order to see everything like we had to in previous games, except it was radio and bell towers. I sure hope we don't.

Its not that I dislike this model of unlocking all points of interest on the map for us to see. Its just that the system is getting a little old now, going to location, climbing a tower and then deactivating a radio got kind of old after awhile.

So will we be seeing something new with Far Cry Primal?

Outposts are confirmed to be back. And so do their signal fires. We'll certainly get some kind of bell towers too.

I agree. It wouldn't be so bad if Ubi hadn't implemented the same system into 3 different franchises putting an ever so slightly different spin on it. That just made the mechanic get old so much quicker. Personally I think they should just have some sort of side-quests linked to revealing the map or something. I seem to enjoy tasks a bit more when there is narrative justification for it and it's a bit more fleshed out than just "go here, flick this switch, boom, heres whats on the map" Imagine if they took the time to have a series of missions where maybe an ally sends you into a cave and you have to fight & navigate your way through until the end when you see that the inhabitants had sketched out a primitive map of the surrounding area, and thats why you're seeing all the new info on the map.... at the same time, maybe make the next map revealing mission different than that, not just a "do that same thing again" situation, which causes the tedium...

I wouldn't mind having to climb to the top of a rock to get a good view (a bit like the Assassin's Creed viewpoint system) but it would have to be like a hidden path, rather than the Radio Towers' climbing path mechanic.

Why not keep it as primal as the game itself - you simply "unlock" portions of the map as you travel across the land ...
