Seems like there might be explosives after all

Am I the only one who noticed the owl carrying what seems to be a bomb on the box art?

I imagine that you can tame an owl and use it like artillery by having it drop barrels of fire. Also highlighted the weird badger animal, no idea what it is.

No I hadn't spotted that. Good catch. That's.... weird.
So maybe there will be some cool pseudo-fantasy type weapons in the game. *Maybe* it has prehistoric dressing, but still Far Cry gonzo crazy action adventure via some "stonepunk" weaponry and gadgets (at least to a limited degree). That would be pretty cool. Pots filled with fire eh? Interesting.

Maybe we'll see things like blowguns with sleep darts, beehive bombs (or whatever the frightening equivalent of prehistoric swarming insects would be? O.o), sharpened bone caltrops, clay jars of flammable sticky resin and so forth (yes Ubi I *am* available for hire - really you should check out my mods some time )

Hopefully the player will be able to construct traps as well - deadfalls, snares, punji pits, etc. to lead predators into.

Be fantastic if it was a giant sloth, but the scale for that image is all wrong (if it is actually to scale - baby sloth?). I'm leaning more towards Oros being based off ancient North America so some kind of prehistoric otter wouldn't be out of the question. If so we may have majestic rivers and huge wood log dams to explore and traverse.

10 Gold Stars for that find!! Nice work!
But also poop... that looks a little too gimmicky for my liking. I mean come-on.. you can't exactly train an owl to carry a flaming basket!

I don't want to say for definite, but my man, that is a honey-badger if I ever saw one!
( P.S.A. : Honey badgers are terrifying creatures, and really should just be left alone at all costs! )

Yes, that is a honey badger fighting a lion. I told you they are terrifying!

Oh man good eye! That would actually be a really cool way to "throw" fire bombs or what have you. That gets me excited to see unique ways they may deliver weapons that we all take for granted.

also the Smilodon (sabertooth) looks to be like a companion. Thanks for catching that fire pot (is it filled with tar from the tarpits i wonder?) with the owl.

*Derp and of course I meant BEAVER not otter. Prehistoric beaver <giggles>. From wikipedia (yeah I know the worst source of reliable information on the internet):
"Castoroides, or giant beaver, is an extinct genus of enormous beavers that lived in North America during the Pleistocene. C. leiseyorum and its northern sister species Castoroides ohioensis, were the largest beavers to ever exist."

    "That's one big beaver Takkar"
"Mmm yes. Giant beaver. Zug Zug"
