I would also like to know this, I was top 80 overall and lost 70 leaderboard places because I didn't have enough gems at the time...

I think that the 200 gems was a 50% discount offer for that track pack for limited time (1 or 2 weeks?).
Anyway, you should have the track set available at full 400 gem cost currently though..

There seems to be some investigation going on about people getting no offers at all, so maybe it's all due to that.

You honestly believe that the 50% off thing was anything but a way of making it seem like your getting a better deal than you actually are? Like with the special offers that show "$23, 50% off from $45" but you never actually see the offer at full price. The $23 is full price but they're just making it seem like a good deal. I'd really be surprised if, when the tracks become available for purchase again, they aren't 200 gems.

Did I mention there somewhere that it wasn't a rip-off?
No I didn't. And it was sort-of, but what can you do if someone wants some new things to play with.

I support the devs now and again by purchasing some stuff, but also I acknowledge very well the money making scheme in the background...
A company has to make it's living, right?

You're not forced to pay anything at all.

I didn't say anything about whether you should or shouldn't make in-app purchases, I just simply gave an example of why the tracks probably won't cost 400 gems like you stated.

Yep, they shouldn't cost 400 gems in a reasonable timeframe if Ubi/RL decides so. Not my decision.
The tracks will (or in worst case won't) be available to everyone at some point in the future for free.

I really hope so, and also the Rodeo event tracks which I didn't manage to unlock, but the fact that the Frostpocalypse tracks still aren't unlockable (at least I think, I already have them all) doesn't give me very high hopes...

If they are gonna do what I think they are then they would put up all the top 20% and event tracks in the special offers place for gems. This way people who missed out would either have to pay for gems to buy or get gems some other way. I deff don't think they should just hand them out for free

I agree, I have worked like mad to get those tracks "for free" meaning playing alot to collect needed gems without buying anything,
It wouldn't be fair to us if they just add them to loot wheel or something like that.
