This looks incredible and i'm so happy it's single player focused, not enough game focus on SP solely anymore. Hopefully the map is filled with cool things to discover, my only issue with FC4 and slightly with FC3 was that exploring wasnt that fun, except when hunting. you came across cool locations but they were always empty and meaningless until you went there for a mission. the airbase in FC3 is an example. really cool location to find but empty and dull until you went there for a mission near the end.
I love the direction for this game though, hopefully there's loads of different variations of weapons, clubs with and without spikes etc. and different spears. Would be awesome if you can start building your own tribe/village from scratch also, similar to the base you have in FC4 Valley of the Yetis. cant wait to hear and see more
Yeah, i agree. Far Cry always stood out because of its single player campaigns. There are other games that have way better multiplayers, but far cry is the best when it comes to single player experience. I love this new approach mainly because another far cry "with guns" would be too "repetitive"... FC4 already is a "copy" of FC3 and this fresh perspective couldnt come in better time.
There is one thing id like to know: will FC primal make use of the same graphics engine on FC4, dunia II, or a newer version of it?
I thought about the Valley of the Yetis too. Maybe we'll see an enhancement of ideas from there, with more elaborate mechanics for obtaining resources for the base, developing the base and, of course, defending it.
I guess it makes sense that action titles are starting to evolve, because all stealth action games were becoming more and more similar to one another and they had the same problems, being unbalanced and having very few ways to interact with the environment. In FC4, once you have a sniper rifle with the silencer, you can conquer outposts by just sniping everyone at your leisure, and the only reason not to do it is that you would soon be bored to tears. Hence the shift to melee weapons and different fighting mechanics.
Regarding interactions, there is a huge game world, in which you can shoot things, throw things and maybe swim and drive, but what else? So again games try to offer something different. That is, unless we want to have something like what Telltale is doing with adventure games: cutscene, a couple of clicks, cutscene, a couple of clicks, cutscene. Maybe that's some future Assassin's Creed game. Arkham Knight added some puzzle platformer style things. And I guess Primal goes in the direction of adding a survival simulator.
Also I think the outposts in FC4 looked too simplistic. There is a glorious detailed landscape and in the middle of it there are a couple of very bland huts. I'm afraid that's not going to change much...it's the Stone Age, after all.
