Considering that the bodies of the player character haven't been modeled in the previous FarCry games I'm guessing looking down we'd see nothing, so I was right in that playing as a female would add nothing to the game. Not only that, but women in those times typically played the part of the gatherer to the male's hunter role. I'd rather play a game about spearing mammoths than picking berries.

    Hey everyone.

We recognize the valid concern about diversity in video game narratives. Far Cry Primal was developed by a multicultural team of various faiths and believes and we hope this attention to diversity in the campaign. You’ll see that in the campaign, we have a deep and varied cast of characters, including several prominent women. From a creative standpoint, we wanted to tell Takkar’s story.

    Thanks.

Sorry for bumping, but stop with the smartass comments guys.

I suppose gamers don't really want women to play games.

"Eeerrrr it's first person blabla it's irrelevant" etc, but I'm sure I would have heard a sheetstorm coming if the main protoganist had been a woman pronto, with no male characters. "OUGH they treated women like this and that back in the stone ages, so it's not realistic for them to be the protagonist.", as if you are an expert with eyes back into the past- This same comment is brought up with every game, even when it's not about the stone age, female characters are always too weak for you, NO, Because the writers could have made them strong! You could have played as the male character they put in there anyway, so why whine about that??! Also, if anyone had asked if they could've made the game as realistic as possible, someone would've shat on that too, so why does it have to be a 100% (fictional) realistic when it comes down to having female characters in games?

To the Devs (or writers) who choose to exclude this option because of story, or whatever: How many games have you already made? How hard is it to ask a female writer to do some work for you? DO you have anyone in your crew who could possibly shed some light on how they think? (A woman obviously) It doesn't have to be rocket science to make a couple of lines different etc.

Sure I haven't played the game yet, and I probably wont, because I there will rarely be a moment where I met a girlfriend of mine and goes "Oh hey, have you played Far Cry Primal?, what did you do when -input moment from the story here- ". Because they'll be playing something else that they can feel immersed into, unless they are covering the game for something, (being payed to play it). Don't tell me you don't care for immersion. It's not about the back of the character, or anything like that, it's all about feeling like you're in the gameworld as yourself.

I apologize if this is out of place, I wanted to give you something to think about, and I get annoyed when I read stupid replies like the idiot up here who claimed girls had no place in the stone age. Because that basically means we should just go and **** off from any gameworld like this.. Taming animals and stuff like that, that stuff sounds awesome, but I certainly won't play it mainly for that. I felt like I wanted to play this game, but not if I have to play it through the eyes of a dude who goes around banging women who supposidly are objects that make men feel better about themselves.

I suppose gamers don't really want women to play games. I don't care who plays what, I just don't want devs to have to cater to a small minority of the audience to the detriment of what I play. I'm not saying or implying I disllike all female protaginists, been playing Rise of the Tomb Raider and it's great, but if the protag in primal were female, that would full on be shoehorning it in for no reason and it would be completely out of place for no purpose other than to cater to the very few people who think it should be that way.
    .....

So you decide what games you'll play based on whether you'll be able to talk to a girlfriend about it? eeesh....

I'm all for giving gamers options in games. I wouldn't mind if they included the option to have a female character. In fact, it would probably be a significantly harder experience since Stone Age men treated women like cattle, sometimes much worse.
We Don't know that; maybe, maybe not... maybe in some area's and in others not. What we do now is that the female fertility statues with a bit rounder shape (found all over europe) are from this era. And scientific deductions of skeletons and cave paintings and more lead to theories that women were equals to men. And that leads to theories that they were some Maternal societies even, because they didn't see men as being involved in the creation of children. Pregnancy was a wonder of the earth for them probably. All theories...
But theories of people with doctorates studies have to count for something. Doesn't it? It's a misconception that women were only gatherers, they hunted too, findings in europe have proved that. i would like to see it available to play a women in the stone age, maybe it won't be immediatly. But i will hope for Seasonpass content. i'm thrilled for what's comming new for this game anyway!

    PS:
I hope some people who will play this game will at least have read Earth's children saga of Jean M Auel. And even though the devs have a clean sheet to write a whole new stone age universe, I hope that they (the devs) at least respected the research Jean M Auel has done on her part for writing her stone age story

From my own creative standpoint, the diversity of your team is merely diversity theater paid by a closed-minded few to continue writing and painting a false history that humankind always was and always will be pure patriarchy.

All this SJW pandering is getting on my nerves. I don't think a game like Prince of Persia: Warrior Within would be possible today.
