    Single Player Only? Total Buzzkill

Months and months back, I praised Far Cry 4 for integrating two-player co-op directly into the single-player. I hoped for that in Far Cry 3, and didn't quite nail it, but FC 4 delivered. Unlike others, I'm intrigued with the concept of Primal, but taking away the two-player co-op totally kills it for me. My friends and I got nearly twice as many hours out of FC4 because of the integrated co-op. With that gone, it still may be a great game, but It might be hard to ever go back to it after a play through. May be something to consider.

Noone has confirmed there isn't any co-op in the game yet...

I would like 4-player co-op though, have your own tribe!

Agree, I played the entire Valley of the Yetis campaign in a 9-hour Coop session and that was such a blast

Posted this in another thread, but it's worth stating here too.

The game is going to be focused on the single player experience. Bringing the Stone Age to life and providing the player with a strong gameplay experience based off of the Far Cry legacy meant we had to reinvent our core gameplay. This was not a small undertaking. Therefore, in the early stages of the project, we made the difficult choice of focusing our efforts on the single player experience. Development teams are devoted to offering the best possible Far Cry experience to our fans.

I completely agree with the direction Ubi is taking with FCP.

I would much rather have a solid SP only experience than a lackluster SP/MP experience.

And I have to say that it's refreshing to see developers interacting with their fanbase on their forums. It's not unheard of, but I have rarely seen it outside of indie game development and I like to see it.

Same here. Good thing is that the setting of the game didn't quite interest me in the first place.

I dont think so. Never enjoyed mp in far cry as much as the campaigns.. there are other games with way better mp, but when it comes to single player campaign, far cry is by far the best game franchise

The absence of multiplayer does not bother me, but it is a pity that Far Cry Primal not have cooperation. It would be wonderful to go hunting animals or occupation of villages with 3 other players.

For me they can drop the multiplayer, but if they decide to drop the Singleplayer Map Editor, then this is even a possible pass for me

Making a game with a two-player co-op doesn't make it lackluster. And that was my point; perhaps it was only my experience, but others here agree with me. Experiencing the campaign with a friend is what put it over the top for me. Now, you're not talking to your buddy about where they are, you're there with them, and some of the YouTube videos we made were a blast.

And I do agree with you that it's cool to see developers interacting with the fans. I was simply making the point that the one feature that took years to implement finally is, and then it's taken away. It's like fixing something that's not broken. People are complaining about FC4 (and even FC3), and I fail to understand why. They apparently sold better than their predecessors, and that only happens for one reason; they're simply better games.

That said, if Primal is indeed single-player only, I hope that the game offers way more overall content than FC4 did. I was finished with FC4 after about 50 hours. Thankfully, the integrated two-player co-op took me beyond 150 hours, and it was a blast every step of the way. I'll still be playing Primal; I'd just rather be sharing the experience with a friend than talking to them about it.
