A few months ago, there was a survey by Ubisoft about the next Far Cry Game. Theye were several options like the style and how it could be themed. The players voted, and the result was, that the option "Survival" and something kinda "Jurassic Park - like" were on the first place, so Ubi just follows the wishes of the players.
I am thinking that the animals have some extras like the tusks on the Elephants, the Yeti FC4 DLC had anew assets like trees with snow on them and that also had some new ice textrues - new skyboxes and weather effects as well as some new snowy animals so maybe they are playing it a little safe and are using a lot of stuff already created - can't blame them for doing that if the game turns out to be ok.
I hope this is bigger than Blood Dragon because although it was a fun game it was short and had virtually no replay value at all for me but did have a quicker pace and some nice effects different from the Far Cry games before it so looks like they are not afraid to do different things - After all does anyone know what Far Cry is anymore - every game is different and the multplayer has never been the same so it seems like they can make it whatever they want it to be.
The big question has to be this - Is Far cry Primal Single Player Only, does it have COOP or MP and does it have an IGE ?
February / March is not long to wait so I am sure the news will filter out very quickly.
Is this just a quick stop gap game until Far Cry 5 ships or will this have some replay value.
I would hope we get much better Fire and Water Effects, the fire from Far Cry 2 was really sweet, it must play a big part in things.
We can already ride Elephants in FC4 so that must be a form of transport again - maybe some other animals are rideable now also ?
Forget multiplayer. this from eurogamer "Ubisoft describes the game as the "the next exciting chapter" in the Far Cry series and a "full-fledged single player experience". http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/20...es-in-february
The game is going to be focused on the single player experience. Bringing the Stone Age to life and providing the player with a strong gameplay experience based off of the Far Cry legacy meant that we had to reinvent our core gameplay loop, not a small undertaking. Therefore, in the early stages of the project, we made the difficult choice of focusing our efforts on the single player experience. Development teams are devoted to offering the best possible Far Cry experience to our fans.Originally Posted by Anorexic_Buddah Go to original post
This is a full-fledged Far Cry opus.Originally Posted by HyperOne2020 Go to original post
i find it something between hard-to-believe and disconcerting that this is a game that started its development from that survey. there isnt enough time for a good game in just a year.Originally Posted by Jangogerman Go to original post
my guess is that this game started development after FC3. not later.
but if that's the case than what did they do with the survey? was it for the game AFTER primal? was it just to see how well their game might be accepted? or maybe they wanted to see how such a concept might be taken and if it came rather last in the survey they would halt production and change directions?...
p.s. the fact that its pure SP is extremely satisfying to hear. i bet they didnt have enough time to include online play and they decided no to over-reach. good decision.
