hi there im trying to install farcry 4 but i got some problem when i install farcry 4 then i click the farcry 4 icon on desktop to play it starts download but it redowloads the game and don't download the update it dosent reconize if the game is installed PLZ HELP what to do?
Edit: Fixed!
i think that may be how it works now if you install the game from DVD (since it does not have any of the updates past shipped version 1.2.0)Originally Posted by UbiBooma Go to original post
i tried to help another user today he bought the Digital version and had a problem as well since he had not run any updates in months or loaded the game he said
and rather then install update 1.3.0 thru 1.10.0 individually the U play Client itself will download and install the current version as it is and replace all the game files
i think the user stated he needed a 30 gig + download to install the updated version (so it may just be the way the Uplay client works ? )

i have the Steam + uplay version of the game and i do remember with some of the updates to far cry 4 were quite large and many had problems until they installed all the updates and then performed a file verify as some times the updates screwed up the game files (i had no problems but i have 100 meg a second + internet speeds..not everyone does )
and there was also an issue on December 26th with the 1.6.0 patch for users that had the Uplay only version of the game (it somehow screwed up the Karma levels) and they had to get a fixed version of the update ..thus steam held back that patch for a few days (may have been a week) until a corrected version of Patch 1.6.0 was released
so again it may just be the way the Uplay client see's the files the user has installed and rather then try to add 1.3.0 then 1.4.0 then 1.5.0 , then 1.6.0 then 1.7.0 then 1.8.0 then 1.9.0 to finally
the current version 1.10.0 ..so it just re installs the entire game at the current version which is 1.10.0
patch notes can be found here in case it helps the original poster (well as many as i could track down )
