    Civilians and the government

This is a question I asked on another thread, but I hink it deserves its own.

Realisticly, since Bolivia is basically owned by the Santa Blanca cartel, wouldn't they have paid hundreds, maybe even thousands of informants? Just regular civilians reporting whatever they see to the cartel, and I am pretty sure if someone sees a group of 4 geared up Americans, someone would definitely tip the cartel off.

Also, how will the corrupt government affect the players gameplay? Will they turn the local police force on them? Spread propeganda? These are things that would happen if the filthy rich politicians suddenly notice someone messing with their income

    What are your ideas/opinions?

I hope we should deal with corruption and also you shouldn't trust anyone. If you linger too long in any village you'll be ratted out. Of course there should be also people that want revenge on cartels for different reasons.

Yeah, maybe there are some civilians you can interact with to get intel or new missions, that'd be cool.

This game is going to be ambitious I think if they really want to do what they're trying to. Civilian/government interaction with the Ghosts needs to be a fully fledged out system. Anybody can and will make a FPS/TPS and but to really stand out, integrate the pillars that matter. For the story and for the style it seems like Ubi is going, civilian interaction and loyalties needs to be a big focus. We need to feel like we are merely four guys against everyone else. Sure, we're Ghosts, but our weapon is intelligence, not ridiculous gun battles with the whole country. You can say and do a lot more by showing restraint.

And furthermore, involving such things as counterintelligence, civies that pretend to be on your side but lead you ambushes etc..., that would really open up gameplay choices and decisions. Anything that can be done to get away from the "go here, talk to them, receive mission, go kill, repeat" gameplay loop is a welcome addition in my book. As far as I'm concerned, breaking that stale/generic loop is what will make the game feel next-gen. You ought to be rewarded for planning and obtaining intelligence and only striking when you know you've got the upper hand.

    Agreed completely.

GRW needs to be a "Green Beret" simulator...and it needs to simulate the entire spectrum of guerilla warfare. Intel collection and building rapport with the civvies is a huge part of that. The Ghosts can't operate without a local intel and support network.

Urban gameplay needs to be a fully fleshed out and realized system IMO for GRW to be more than just an open world TPS. A living breathing world is absolutely key to making this game...and I feel the devs realize this better than anyone.

It will be a game changer if they manage to pull it off. I can't wait for this game.

I like what I'm hearing from the devs but to make it work they need to pull Stalker's A-Life level AI and that is easier said than done. But I'm actually hopefull this is the game that could top that.
