I can not for the life of me, fathom the reasoning for putting heavily armored, suicide bombers in this game.
THE best moments in Rainbow Six comes from breaching and flawlessly clearing a room with precise movement and shot placement. Now, I breach a door and am greeted by a ****** waiting for me prepared to blow himself up. Plus they take an ungodly amount of damage.
They really...and I mean really need to be removed.
I've put about 2 hours into the game, and while on the surface it LOOKS good...the controls are good (Thank god they ditched that horrible Vegas abomination and it's 3rd person cover system), although they really need to improve the lean/peak feature. It has really no use since the gain is minimal at best. The bombers, door rigging and enemies that flank your entrance point into the building from OUTSIDE are dealbreakers.
Raven Shield is a 12 year old game and has better AI. It's kind of sad. Couldn't you have spent more time improving the enemy AI's tactics (Like, more of a desire to stay alive then to simply take us out?), and less time on this super gimmicky enemy type? I went through and took out 16 enemies on my first run through (on Hard) on the Hereford base house. Only to be taken out by a guy that charged my room and detonated.
Looks like a no-buy for me. I was super excited for this...but in a week, I learned it has no story mode (fail...Raven Shield had a story mode + terrorist hunt+ coop terrorist hunt + PVP Multiplayer with way more game modes and maps) and the MP is repetitious and gimmicky. Sigh...Ubisoft, when will you stop.
