We're now in week 3 and I'm just about to get to 13,000 horseshoes without spending gems. Is it possible to collect 50,000 without spending any real money?
To me it seems this event is not possible to complete without spending actual cash and it seems unfair. I understand people who spend real money having an advantage by being able to complete quicker but is it even possible to do without spending?
To me it seems unfair that this event is geared towards people who can spend real cash on games when people who want to have fun with the game but can't afford to spend are left behind.
I spend a lot of time playing this game and I love it but things like this make me feel alienated from it and puts me off playing because it seems like an impossible task.
Does anyone else feel the same?
Speaking as an compulsive/anal completionist who considers is a part of the fun/challenge to do it all and NOT pay money .... yes, its doable. I will be done a week early, I believe. We're now in week 3 and I'm just about to get to 13,000 horseshoes without spending gems. Is it possible to collect 50,000 without spending any real money?
However 99% of people are NOT built like me, and will not be able to put in the time/effort to grind it out, at least not without paying to take some shortcuts. Those people have real lives they love more, and there is certainly nothing wrong with that. (I have a real life too, but I simply dont need as much sleep as the next guy which also helps me greatly)
Its sort of sad that RL regularly puts on contests that can only be completed through significant restructuring of your life to accommodate the contests requirements (its still true even if you pay, really...). Everyone should have their own "line in the sand" that you will not let the game push you across, and if it does... you drop it like the life-killer it is and dont look back.To me it seems unfair that this event is geared towards people who can spend real cash on games when people who want to have fun with the game but can't afford to spend are left behind.
I am here to ride bikes, play new tracks, and test my skill. I am NOT here to grind all the time. . . .RL should keep that in mind if they are interested in player retention.
It is definitely possible to get 50k without using gems or money. I am currently on 25k and should easily reach the target with the current rate I get horseshoes (which will increase next week).
In saying that, the event has certainly been a grind and very fuel intensive.
This is exactly my problem. It just shouldn't be so much work to have fun with the game. The payoff is almost not worth the work put into it. A couple of new tracks/outfits and a new bike which is hard to ride (which I also won't be able to afford to upgrade) shouldn't be so hard to achieve.Originally Posted by xitooner Go to original post
My tank only holds 61 fuel and this update uses so much. I bought the new track pack and I've only been able to play the levels once each because I've had to spend all of my fuel on the challenges. I've not been able to do the daily challenges or the regular slot machine.
All this and it's unlikely that I will even be able to complete the 50,000 horseshoes.
I'm close to 18,000, 63 fuel and feel I've played far more than could of been expected. I'm still hopeful the horseshoes will start pouring in.
Like xitooner i have a compulsion to get all of the tracks and have been working my butt off to get them. Personally i think 50,000 is too much, i genuinely don't want to play this much for an event and would rather work on the new extreme tracks.
Hopefully week 4 won't require as many Bronco Bucks and will allow folks to play catchup to get the rewards from this event.
Given the rate of reward of horseshoes, if the final event rewards even more than the second and third event, then it is definitely possible to get 50,000.
I'm currently at 18440 horseshoes with 59 fuel and without spending any gems. 1st week I gained a measly 3000 horseshoes, 2nd week was about 10000 horseshoes (by this time, I have almost given up on the slot machine though), so I foresee myself earning 15000 this week and hopefully the remaining 22000 next week (may have to push myself a little more and spend some gems in the final week).
So if you ask me, 50000 is probably a tad too much.
And at any rate, daily challenges are the least priority for me in any event. In fact, had it not been for these events, I probably wouldn't bother playing this game. Events are the only thing that's keeping me in this game now.
I think its too many. The numbers some people are putting up without gems must require nearly perfect runs all the time, and great luck on the spinning wheels. i've dumped a fair few gems in, and i'm still only at 22500 horseshoes (apparently the 140th person to get the first horseshoe track). I think this game might finally have done me in and i'm not sure i'll bother grinding out the last 27500 horseshoes required to get the bike and the last couple of tracks.
of the three weeks, only the convict chase is really worth the gems. the slot machine doesn't return enough per 50 bucks, and at 100 bucks a pop, the stallion time trials are sketchy at best. unless next week provides a way to reliably win 200-500 horseshoes per 50 bronco bucks, i'm definitely out.
I'm at 16.500 horseshoes at the moment, been playing quite often, haven't spended any gems and I think I won't make it to 50k...in my opinion it's impossible to get there witout spending gems AND very much free time.
I always got like 1k bronco dollars, only spending them on the slot machine when there are any more (blue) horseshoes available - with just 63 fuel tank I can't use the slot machine the whole time.
If the goal would be 40k, it would be achievable without spending gems (if the last week brings some good horseshoes grinding possibility)...
RL tries again to seize every money out of the players, it's fu**ing ridicoulous. The only good thing about this event is that you can get very very much ingame money, therefore I could upgrade my Mantis, Marauder and Riptide to their maximum.
