I’m looking at my calendar and it says it’s Thursday. That must mean it’s time for more Uplay Recommended tracks! 5 tracks this week for all to enjoy including an exceptionally challenging extreme from our old friend KALzzone8, his first release since leaving the Redlynx level team to return to school. What else do we have this week? Let’s check the list:
Bayside Boat Ride by SwampBalls
Mode: Trials
Difficulty: Easy
Original Platform: Playstation 4
Like Trials? Like boating? Want to bring those two things together? SwampBalls did and the result is a really exciting race across boats and docks to reach an explosive finish. This isn’t the most intricately decorated track but what it lacks in scenery it makes up for with crazy animations and some truly memorable moments. While the concept is reminiscent of tracks like The Vestibule, jumping from boat to boat as they speed along the open water is a truly unique experience in the world of Trials and just a heck of a lot of fun to play.
BCC4: YOMI by PWaRo
Mode: Trials
Difficulty: Hard
Original Platform: Xbox One
The BCC4 drops continue this week with PWaRo’s YOMI. This track takes place in a mysterious cave with giant ancient machinery. PWaRo has used the Psy camera filter to give this track an eerie feel but it’s not all about the looks. YOMI has an addictive drive line that I had a blast running again and again to improve my time. There are a few nice timesavers to shave precious seconds off your time so keep your eyes open and on the prize.
Wanted Rabbit by koumick95
Mode: Trials
Difficulty: Hard
Original Platform: Playstation 4
koumick95 takes us back to the old west with a reimagining of the track Wanted Biker. Besides some cosmetic and drive line updates there is one big difference in Wanted Rabbit and the clue is right there in the name. You’ll need to use pedal power to get through this old west mining town. Still a relatively smooth ride but some of the time savers are a bit more challenging on the Rabbit. Buckle down and pedal hard, partner. We’ll see you at the finish line.
Funky Fubar [VP] by VPeliteFTW
Mode: Trials
Difficulty: Hard
Original Platform: Playstation 4
Funky Fubar is a fast fun track with a fairly easy speed run line. It’s got just enough challenge to keep you on your toes but a smooth run will reward you with a lot of speed and big jumps. Don’t get too comfortable though because there is a tricky finish you’ll need to nail to catch the platinum. For those concerned with “pure trials” tracks this one does have a transition that briefly takes you out of the action in the middle of the track but it keeps your speed up and at least during my playthroughs I never had it negatively impact my run.
The Mines [K8] by KALzzone8
Mode: Trials
Difficulty: Extreme
Original Platform: Playstation 4
As mentioned in the intro this is a mighty challenging track. I could use more words to describe the difficulty of this track but I think this tweet I sent to KALzzone8 after my first go sums it up well:
That’s right, rage quit. That's not bad design or obstacles, it's just really really hard. Now I don’t want to jump the gun and throw out terms like “ninja” but I feel like this track really pushes the limits of extreme. For me a few of the checkpoints are long enough to warrant a ninja tag but others disagree. Regardless this is not for the faint of heart. If you possess the skills and the zen to take on The Mines you will be treated to a track that is as beautiful visually as it is challenging.
And there you have it, Riders. All 5 tracks are available now in the Uplay Recommended feed on Xbox One, Playstation 4 & PC.
