Same problem, I am using Windows 10, I just re-installed Far Cry 4 but nothing happens on launch. With compatibility mode off I click play, the box pops up saying "Synchronising....." that closes and nothing happens
If use Compatibility mode to Windows 8 or Windows 7 the box pops up and then stays , in a never ending load state. The little icon is spinning but nothing actually happens
again if you have the u play only version of the game and your having problems

OS: Windows® 7 (SP1) / Windows® 8 / Windows® 8.1 / (64-bit only)
Processor: 2.6 GHz Intel® Core™ i5-750 or 3.2 GHz AMD Phenom™ II X4 955 <---*note* both are Quad core CPU's
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or AMD Radeon HD5850 (1 GB VRAM)
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Hard Drive: 30 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX-compatible
Additional Notes: Windows-compatible keyboard, mouse, optional controller.
RECOMMENDED:
OS: Windows® 7 (SP1) / Windows® 8 / Windows® 8.1 / (64-bit only)
Processor: 2.5 GHz Intel® Core™ i5-2400S or 4.0 GHz AMD FX-8350 or better
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 or AMD Radeon R9 290X or better (2 GB VRAM)
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Hard Drive: 30 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX-compatible
Additional Notes: Supported video cards at the time of release: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or better, GeForce GTX 700 series; AMD Radeon HD5850 or better, Radeon R9 series.
Note: Laptop versions of these cards may work but are NOT officially supported.
remember Dual Core Cpu's are not supported (this game yes requires a QUAD CORE CPU to launch properly the game mostly runs off the CPU's 3rd core )
Direct X 10 vid cards , onboard AMD APU's or Intel HD graphics chips are not supported ....you need a GTX 460 or an AMD 5850 or better by better they mean performance wise not just number wise and by that yes both Nvidia and AMD make crippled cards that may have a higher version number but performance wise they can't cut it
as they have a limited number of Pixel and vertex shaders and may possibly run with only a 64 bit memory interface
look up your desktop card here http://pclinks.xtreemhost.com/video.htm ........is it better then a GTX 460 or an AMD 5850 ?
laptop Video cards may work but are not supported ..this is due to the fact most laptop GPU's run much slower with much less memory bandwidth and clock speeds then Desktop cards do .. this is by design to conserve POWER and dissipate heat that a modern gaming GPU produces
if ya wanna game on a Laptop expect to pay about 2 grand for a good one with dedicated SLI GPU's or Crossfire GPU's that have their own Dedicated GDDR5 ram ... not shared system DDR3 ram
next ......have you installed the updated version of the Uplay Client ?
if not you.... can get that here https://uplay.ubi.com click were it says Download Uplay On PC
just for now try installing it on top of your existing install in case its missing files .... or did not update properly
and AGAIN PLEASE

so yes your video chip is below the minimum system requirements of a GTX 460, which is the minimum supported card by them saying better then ...they do not mean number wise they mean performance wise
sorry ....but its true... go look it up ! i just gave you the links
laptop GPU's are not as powerful as their desktop counterparts .. this is by design.. as in a small laptop case they cant dissipate the heat they generate the way Desktop cards do with large heat sinks + larger fans plus laptops try to conserve every bit of power they can
you can try to open your Nvidia control panel and look under 3D settings global
make sure under power management mode you have it set to prefer Maximum Performance not Adaptive
but if ya heat that chip up too hot yes you can fry a laptop GPU i have seen the first Far Cry game do that on a buddie of mines laptop years ago
he also had an Nvidia GPU and set the settings too high ..within days he had no more laptop ..as he cooked the GPU
this game will push a vid card ..just like the other far cry ones always have
you may get it to run but only in low to medium settings with decreased performance
Note: Laptop versions of these cards may work but are NOT officially supported.
bottom line ....
if ya plan to game on a laptop buy a good one and they do not come cheap and usually have 2 nvidia SLI vid chips or AMD cross fired chips as well as dedicated memory in them
Here is a possible solution to the issue as i was having the same issue, try disabling the uplay ingame overlay and you should be able to start far cry 4 with uplay in online mode. As for weather or not you will be able to do coop is another story as I don't know how dependent coop is on the uplay overlay
