After deleting the files, I just launched the game again from Uplay and it started working.. Finaly
Hope this helps!
Yes, i also stumbled upon this problem while installing the AC games on the brandnew gaming computer from my daughter. I found out that it might not have anything to do with Windows Storage Spaces directly but more with the physical size of the HDD: my daughter has a 4TB HDD divided into 2 partitions of 2 TB. Her pc also has a 256GB M2 SSD to start Windows. I followed the instructions by placing the soundfiles on this SSD and dropping symbolic links. Although this worked, this 256 GB doesn't have enough space to drop all the soundfiles from all the AC games (my daughter bought this huge megapack...). I also cannot stand such thing since it works at the computer of my son: a 240GB SSD to start Windows from and a 1TB HDD where the AC games are installed WITH the soundfiles also on this 1TB HDD. No problems whatsoever.
So why does it work at my son's computer and not on my daughter's computer? Then i tried the following: i had this 500GB HDD. I installed AC 1, AC Originals and another AC game on that 500GB, together with the soundfiles and guess what: it works!
So i think this problem has to do with the Physical size of the HDD on which AC is installed and my guess is that 2TB is the limit. It doesn't work on a larger HDD even if you divide this into smaller partitions (which i did). It has to be physically 2TB or less.
Related to Storage Spaces: i think it is reasonable to assume that on using Storage Spaces to create a storage pool, this might exceed this 2TB limit causing AC not to work.
In short: if you want to install AC on a separate disk: make sure it physically doesn't exceed 2TB (i can confirm that 1TB works, and i assume 2TB is the limit, but it might as well be 1TB.
My daughter is happy, the AC games work (i also had a spare 1TB which she now uses)
I don't know if anyone posted this solution but i wanted to share this info.
Happy gaming
Michel
