What's up man? Thank you for the compliment.Originally Posted by relax_im_a_cop Go to original post
I made one track for Trials Fusion on Xbox One but the ending is broken. I wouldn't recommend playing it lol. I don't even remember what I named it.
The editor in Fusion is hard for me to relate to because of the futuristic and oversized pieces, so the enthusiasm for me to build was never really there. My heart was in it for Evolution because the editor pieces were relevant and familiar in my mind whereas the pieces in Fusion are not. Maybe that makes sense to you maybe it doesn't? In the long run, stepping away from building and enjoying everyone else's builds on Track Central has been absolutely wonderful.
Nowadays I spend a majority of my time playing Elder Scrolls Online but I occassionally come back to Fusion every now and again to rip a few customs, interact with the community, and everything in between.
Like always I've posted too much!
I'm out - much love <3
Or maybe I've had my monitor calibrated and they haven't? hmmm. hahaOriginally Posted by purpleoozi Go to original post
I could go through a bunch on track central, but just don't want to spend the time. I agree with what you're saying on black levels/brightness settings. A great idea would be to have a gamma setting, as with many other games. Tracks on the XBONE are a bit darker by nature, but the ones I'm thinking of are created on the PS4. I'm sure I could increase the light in the scene and I don't have the black levels crushed...which I know many people may do. You ruin the midtones by adding excessive contrast. At first it looks great, but you lose detail in images. Most don't get that, but I'm not one.
The tracks I'm referring to are not just a little dark in areas, but literally black on the driveline. I realize everyone's settings are different though.
I'm not sure who needs a pro to calibrate their tv? It's not all that challenging and specific to a viewers tastes. I always laugh when BestBuy tries to sell that one...literally in their face.
My display is calibrated and I encounter this issue at times. A simple gamma option like most other games have would be most welcome and It should have been added to all versions instead of a global adjustment to the bone version (that the user cannot adjust). I understand the benefits of having a single profile for all users of the game, but giving the user a choice and the ability to improve things if need be is not neccesarily a bad thing.
I agree it would be nice to have gamma/brightness settings in the game itself. I know a few updates ago they brightened things up a bit on the Xbone, and it definitely helped some, but some tracks were still too dark and I just figured it was my TV, but I just got a new TV 2 weeks ago and some are still fairly dark.
When I play official tracks, driveline is king, and I still expect a meaningful aesthetic. When I play customs, I value original thought, creative expression, wild ideas over traditional conventions. I love pure trials. But I usually feel like I've gotten my fix from the big guns.
With the means to make damn near whatever we want, I like to see people express themselves and try to achieve excellence in ANY way. Sometimes incredible things can be accomplished by prioritizing some things over others. The result might not be perfect, but still incredibly memorable thanks to its ambition.
It's the pure trials ~ pure fun thing. I loved that in evolution. It was a clear distinction. Pure trials is all about form and function, possibly great aesthetics too. And pure fun was tracks that did cool, noteworthy things that weren't primarily about speed running; and skill games/wild stuff.
I really enjoyed that setup. there's room to enjoy both.
Dark tracks are my ultimate pet peeve. TV differences aside, why build tracks on the borderline of visibility in the first place? Nobody has ever complained about a track not being dark enough.
As a gamer I understand daylight sometimes feels like the enemy, but a little daylight never killed anyone.... excluding vampires.
I think riding line and theme should go together well, I like the concept of having a theme in a track and love that gritty feeling of pure trials and like a consistant line through and through. It should be right from start to finish. Sometimes less is more for me as it can make sense. It depends on the atmospheric look it gives or what is around to make sense in its area.
I get so many ideas to make in a track but sometimes find it hard to be meaningful, I need it to be right before I release it, and love putting challenges in to give it more than just a track or even an easter egg just for the enjoyment.
I am going to spruce up my guide a bit cause I feel tracks out there need some more to it, there are track builders out there who have the potential to make some decent tracks but lack why the tracks lag, or they have performance issues. They could easily put a link to the game like they have been doing or link it to some Fusion guides.
This could be issued at the start of the next Trials game, to help bring a bigger community and more playable tracks with some awesome detail.
