Anyone notice how quite a few Uplay picks have some sketchy drivelines, but are still picked. If a track has great decor...basic driveline issues are overlooked quite often. Smoke and mirrors.
Simple things like:
Camera blocking
Objects too close to the driveline that you don't land/ride on
TOO dark areas
Little nick nack pattie wacks in the driveline that serve no purpose and hurt the flow
My favorite, too dark areas. If you can't see the line, how do you interact with it? Use some point lights or adjust the ambient lighting.
I've seen MP UCG maps in game that you literally can not see 20% of the track. How does this happen?
I've contacted my senator and hope to get to the bottom of this serious matter![]()
I can't comment on the most recent picks as I haven't seem them, but there have been quite a few in total since the featured tracks started. One thing I have noticed however is some tracks only became this way after being ported and wasn't entirely the fault of the builder - no specific examples from the top of my head sorry.
Disclaimer: The above is not a criticism, rather an observation.
I personally prefer when a map looks good over drive line. The way I rate maps are:
ok driveline + ok looks = I don't vote
good driveline + horrible looks = downvote
really good driveline + horrible looks = downvote
really good looks + horrible drive line = I don't vote
really good looks + good drive line = up vote
YES, I understand that the gameplay is the core of the game. If a map has a horrible drive line I won't up vote it but in my opinion, most track builders these days can wip up a good drive line pretty fast, making the track look good on the other hand seems like a much harder feat for most. The most optimal track is obviously having both really good looks and driving line.
Name your top 5 recent UPlay Picks (track name and creator) in regards to some of these issues you're talking about. I don't mean it in a way to put that creator on blast or take away from his build, but I'd like to be on the same page as you.Originally Posted by VEGASTRASH Go to original post

I'll add-
Everyone's television is different.
Some people rock 4k, 1080i, 1080p, plasma, LED, etc. Maybe what's dark on your screen isn't dark on the screen of the RL UbiSoft staff member who chooses the UPlay Picks. Maybe they've had their television or monitor professionally calibrated, maybe you haven't? To each their own but I can't really understand what you're talking about in terms of darkness until a specific track or tracks are named.
If there are certain tracks you think deserve to be in the Uplay Recommended but aren't there you should head to the Uplay Recommended Nomination Thread: http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...ination-Thread
It is very difficult to pick tracks that would please everyone but hopefully there have been many tracks that you have enjoyed.
Purpleoozi maybe right about the brightness thing being related to your monitor.
