Then paste it on the game directory.
Thank GOG (Geddit?) for this fix but I have no idea how these folks find these solutions, absolute madmen there.
This sorta fixes it, I mean sorta. You will see the game start in windowed mode which will not respond until the cinematic is over. Then it will stay on windowed mode, but you will not see the flickering anymore, after the intro is over you can now play the game. It will go to full screen once the game starts.
I replaced that file and the game tries to start, but all I get is a black screen with a large cursor. In the Sherman.log file I see this msg:
SetDisplayMode to 640x480x16 failed.
Renderer::Fullscreen() failed during Renderer::SetDisplayMode() in file C:\Develop\Common\Renderer\renderer.cpp at line 1244
Error = "Operation requires the application to have exclusive mode but the application does not have exclusive mode."
I looked at PC Gaming Wiki, which suggest to change compatibility settings to:
Reduced Color Mode - 16 Bit
Disable display scaling on high dpi
Run as administrator
I did all 3 of those, but still have that same error.
Any ideas? Thanks, in advance
Lots of people seem to still be having these problems.... nothing since September 2015... any feedback?Originally Posted by UbiChrisMANG Go to original post
yeah, none of this works for me.
winmm.dll, compatibility modes, settings, even the virtual box idea game me headaches. I've tried every single fix I've seen. I even submitted a ticket and the only response I got was that it could only work on Windows 95/98, yet there's all these success stories but yeah, nothing on my end.
