Hello!
Sorry, if this question has been answered, but I recently got the uplay humble bundle including the Rainbow Six games. I'm trying to run the original Rainbow Six, but it doesn't seem to be working at all. It won't launch or run or even attempt too. I've run it in all the compatibility modes (95,98,XP,etc) and tried to run in a smaller windows (64X480) because I am on windows 10. Has anyone had any luck, or any ideas on how to get this uplay title to launch/run?
Thanks in advance
2 more things to try:
- While using compatibility modes (try them all again one by one) right click on the shortcut icon to launch the game and choose "Run as Administrator". Of course, if you've already tried this never mind!
- Some games have trouble running with a dual video card setup such as a Crossfire configuration. If you use a dual card setup try disabling one of them before trying to launch.
If these 2 don't work our Support people might be able to help you out. You can reach them through the links in my signature below and submit a support ticket.
I'm having the exact same problem. I can also add, that it runs, but as a background task, not leaving any way to switch to it. Additionally, it will run several instances of the program at the same time.Originally Posted by kersplats Go to original post
I'm also having this problem and I'm almost certain it's due to Windows 10 because my laptop which is running 7 is able to launch this while my desktop running 10 isn't.
Pretty disappointed in the Clancy Humble Bundle because several of the games seem to be pretty crippled (Rainbow Six of course doesn't start, Rainbow Six 3 has an awful flickering, Splinter Cell has various bugs, Future Soldier crashes at random).
I found a fix. Apparently there is an incompatible file in the games folder. A file called winmm.dll is incompatible. It needs to be removed or renamed in order for the game to run. Here is where I found the fix http://www.gog.com/forum/rainbow_six..._on_windows_10
Someone give this man a cookie. I can second that this works. Now to find a work around for Athena Sword and Raven Shield.Originally Posted by grjdt13 Go to original post
when you get to the main menu use alt-enter to go window mode, and the game will go full screen when you load a levelOriginally Posted by Sophex93 Go to original post
Edit: After trying the above fix for the the first rainbow six game I can say it does work, but i'll give you a better solution, copy winmm.dll from "C:/windows/system32/" and it works perfectly, also I have sound in game when I use the Max Sound option in the options menu.
The sound issue is arising due to a 3rd party codec being used that isn't updated anymore and the game contains an old version that can't be found. You can find the latest version of the codec at free-codecs.com it's called VoxWare the version being used in game is 1.5.0.54 the newest version which was released back in 2004 is 1.6.0.12 . I've tried installing the new version of the codec and replacing the .dll files in the game folder but still no luck.
Look in the file Sherman.log here's what mine says
Selecting sound device AMD HDMI Output (AMD High Definition Audio Device)
driver is {0.0.0.00000000}.{56d76369-810a-4081-9c56-cd863e20b72d}

Hello,
I am also experiencing problem with trying to run both the original Rainbow Six and Rogue Spear. I recently just acquired Tom Clancy's Counter Terrorism pack. After installing both games, it says I need to login with administrator privileges when I try to launch. So I figured to run the games as administrator. But when I try to launch either game as administrator, nothing happens. I am on Windows 7 64 bit, and from what I've heard, the counter terrorism versions should run fine on windows 7. Compatibility options do not work, and I can not locate this winmm.dll file.
