Hi there,
short question, how do I backup all my in game progress when I want to switch devices?
I am planning to get me a new iPhone this month, so how will I be able to port all my in-game progess from the old iPhone to the new one?
Prior to iOS 8 it was easy, you could just save the player.bin file through iExlorer and copy it onto the new device.
This is no longer possible.
Any suggestions on what to do now?
Thanks
As far as I know, iOS and Android work the same with our Uplay accounts, which saves all progress in the cloud (on their servers) No need for the old style back-ups anymore, so all you have to do is install the game onto your new device, play the first 3 "Training" levels then you'll be able to log-in to your Uplay account, once you've logged-in, simply tap to load the 'Server' account then.....Violá, everything will be the same as you had on your old device, ok mate !?
Hopefully someone playing on iOS can confirm this, just to be 100% !!

Yes, works fine on IOS... and I will go a little further. If you should happen to keep your old phone, it should still work fine for games as long as you are connected to Wifi.... which means that you can still use it. Having two devices is useful in this game (like having an ipad+iphone).....Originally Posted by FatalDragon69 Go to original post
Why? Because the other device can serve as your own backup. Its saved me a couple of times (I have had multiple corrupted saves... and I dont count on RL to save me).
1) Play as normal on your new device.
2) Once a week (or after major accomplishments, like getting a new track), log in on your alternate device, and update from server to create a backup of your progress.
3) ... one day... your new phone gets a corrupted save or a forced restart, etc... You seem stuck untill RL "fixes" you..
4) But you are not stuck. Log into your alternate device, and "update from Local". That puts your alt devices save on the server. Exit game.
5) Log into your new/favorite device... and now "update from server" and you will now have your save from your other device... and back in business once more.
Last tidbit... something you learn if you make heavy use of two devices and are always switching back and forth. . . you dont want to play the game and then realize you forgot to update from your other device and risk losing progress. . . . bad news. So what you can always do is to visit the garage after starting. When you leave the garage, it ALWAYS check right then to see if there are server/local differences. . . so just do that to make sure you are in sync.
