    Stress-induced tournament incapacities

    I've woken up early this morning. I found that the first tournament runs of the day are often the best.

    I've missed sub-7:30 World-Championship successes, almost twice in a row. In one of these cases it was more of a physics crash, but on the other I was almost aiming for under the 7-minutes mark, and that's all while the platinum medal has still been evading me, meaning that would have been killing two birds with one stone.

    But my last run, my heart began pounding so much that I fell unable to pursue, and soon failed.

    When that happens, the player has a few choices before him:
    1) keeping playing (in which case he has a high chance of failing);
    2) taking a short break (in which case the adrenalin soon has the chance of taking back anyway to a too-high degree, causing a fail);
    3) taking a several-minutes break or more (in which case when one returns, the adrenalin might be too low or the player not warmed up enough, which causes a fail).

    Have you ever lived similar, stress-induced, tournament-incapacities experiences? If so, what are you doing as a solution to the problem?

    I've got a few tournament tips to share:

    1) know your tracks! if you're having trouble with one in particular, ride it individually many times, and find safe techniques for every obstacle;
    2) resist the temptation towards big tricks! I know this run might permit you into the top 100, but the goal right now is just to get platinum;
    3) therefore, stabilize your bike between each obstacle. It's far easier to do one thing at a time than to handle them all in quick successions;

    4) I've found out that after exercising, there is an about-30-minutes window frame in which you are both more relaxed and aware, which can be used to play that tournament.

    Screw this: I'm abandoning. I guess the safest, more robust, and ultimate solution to the tournament problem is uninstalling the game. I'm giving my XBox away. I've got a life, and this game prevents me from having one as I'm always having tournaments behind my head as if it was top priority in my to-do list. Welcome this tip, everybody! The hardest HD tournaments are just too much. :/
